    Nu-metal isn't bad, it's just that it is seen as both musically and lyrically inferior to other genres of metal

    Can someone tell me why people hate P.O.D. so much. Is it because they are Christians or what?

    What about Disturbed and SOAD? I think they are prob only good rock bands that have come out in the past few years. Well, The Sickness and Toxicity were IMHO excellent. Great meoldies and great lyrics.

    Are they nu-metal?

    Everything that's had a distorted guitar eventually becomes some subdivision of rock. Grunge is really a form of rock. As is Steve Miller Band.

    Everything is rock. Including Twisted Sister.

    I think the worst thing about nu metal is the rapping. I just can't stand it. And their whiny high pitched singing. But TBH I do like a few - killswitch engage and old korn songs where there is absolutely no rap

    Trips - yes, disturbed and soad are nu metal

    syd - I personally hate POD intensely, yeah a lot of it has to do with their preachy christian thing, that and the rapping, and their music videos, fake positivity, their image, clothes, guitar "playing", etc.

    SoaD were good enough, until they got famous, then they just got lazy and started pumping out endless drivel. Happens with alot of bands (ala: korn).

    Korn didn't get lazy they just made a bad album. Alot of bands do that... I mean kornaint my fave band or anything but i still listen to all their other albums. If they made a new album that even came close to issue's or follow the leader they'll do well but i cant see it been to easy for them....

    In my opinion Korn are NOT Nu-metal no matter how many people say they are they are on thr go alot longer then all these crappy bands like the hives and such....Anyway thats just my opinion so dont burn me up over it ok...:)

    +SOAD still rock i thought their new album was just as good maybe even better then toxicity...

    So what is the problem with these bands? They start off good, and have plenty of great tunes on that one good album they all seem to have. I got Disturbed's recent album, found it to be only OK.

    Do they get too much cash/media-play/coverage too quickly and get lazy? I wouldn't say that even POD, for example, lacked talent. A band that has say, one song that sounds great and the rest are all **** deserves to crash and burn, but I can't understand why these bands are coming with a great album with many great songs and then **** it all up.

    I say POD because I just saw the soundtrack song they have for Matrix Reloaded. What band with maybe 2 good hits (Alive and that Youth of The Nation one) could expect to be soundtracked for sucha big movie 10 years ago?

    Maybe they should not try and get a follow up out so fast - maybe the **AA who are ultimate owners through there record companies are pushing for a new album too fast. I don't know. Plnety of wasted potential, IMHO.
