    We have had some positive reports from [CW] Blade about the UKCTF mod
    being used on the UK Barrysworld servers, so have decided to try it out at
    quake.ie.

    This allows level voting and other features.

    So get your Threewave CTF client and connect to ctf1.quake.ie now!

    It is possible to switch between 3 or 4 different modes with this mod,
    will see which is most popular before long.

    Okay CTF people, I need a sequence of levels
    to run on the ctf1.quake.ie server.

    Using impulse 70 I think, you can vote for the
    next level in the sequence, so if we get a
    good series of levels together we should be
    sorted.

    At the moment we have:

    localinfo ctf2m1 ctf2m8
    localinfo ctf2m8 ctf2m2
    localinfo ctf2m2 ctf2m7
    localinfo ctf2m7 ctf2m5
    localinfo ctf2m5 ctf2m4
    localinfo ctf2m4 ctf2m7
    localinfo ctf2m7 ctf2m1

    Changes?

    Are these the only levels?

    I like to play the regular id levels but with ctf stuff in them. Yes they can be unbalanced but thats the fun.

    Okay well here's a few of the features. Sounds amazing.

    From the documentation -

    * ADDED * Time left in matches is now reported every minute
    instead of in the last 5. Also the current team scores are
    reported (including dropped points where appropriate).

    * ADDED * Spectators now have a lots more impulse commands
    including an improved QW track cam and the option to auto track
    the flag carriers etc...

    impulse 1 goto spawn point
    impulse 2 cycle between flag base locations
    impulse 3 cycle between flag current locations
    impulse 4 track Red flag carrier
    impulse 5 track Blue flag carrier
    impulse 6 track player
    impulse 7 change viewpoint
    impulse 8 toggle status bar
    impulse 9 stop tracking
    impulse 10 free look toggle

    ** UKCTF Major Changes Over Standard Threewave CTF4.21 **

    1) QUAD & 666 glow Blue & Red respectively for GL users. So
    do flags when in their bases.

    2) 3 topcolor options. None, No crossdressing and "Yellow Jersey"

    3) Lots more bug fixes and optimizations on top of the server
    CPU and Bandwidth reducing modifications. The original author
    of the code I based the RB section on said modem users could
    see up to a 20% improvent in pings and I don't disbelieve him
    (well, now with my added additions I do :)

    ** UKCTF Major Changes Over Standard Threewave CTF4.21 **

    4) Better team assignment. Now uses the current team scores
    to allocate players to a team upto a maximum of 2 more than
    the opposition if scores are very one sided.

    5) More efficient death and CTF messages to reduced bandwidth and
    increase easy readability. Also includes more deaths from
    Quad attackers.

    6) Level changes can now be voted for if a majority of players are
    in favour (can also be disabled). Vote using impulse 100.
    Also players are disconnected from server if they stay dead for
    5 minutes.

    7) Now added default action to ban use of the FAQ-PROXY special
    options on a server running this mod ie what most people would
    call stopping cheats!

    ** Options for clan matches **

    1) UKCTFL skins cycling. Use impulse 166 to cycle through
    available skins. (Not available in Midnight mode)

    2) Dropped frags due to player disconnections or timeouts can
    be included in the final team scores.

    3) Option of a prematch time were all players are locked in
    position and unable to move. Gives everyone a fair start and
    time to set there skins if required.

    Hey we can have e3m6 if people want, I just want
    to get a list of favourite levels so we can get
    ctf1.quake.ie to cycle through them. The ctf2mx
    levels are cool though, check out ctf2m2, it's
    great!

    I disagree. We played all the CTFX and CTF2mX
    levels over a lan one summer, and every level
    is evenly balanced (imo). There are some that
    *seem* unequall, you just gotta adjust
    your strategy.

    Oh, welcome back me. holiday was great, blah
    blah blah. Nice to see nothing actually happened
    while I was away basking in the sun.

    : P.S. quake.ie server list updated.

    Cloud - please please please install VWep! It adds
    sooooo much to Q2 gameplay, in CTF especially.

    Now that Q2 v3.15 handles VWep tranparently, there
    won't be any problems/artifacts caused people not
    having the client side pak file.

    Okay I have enabled it on q2ffa1, q2duel1.

    On q2war1, trying to find out how to put in
    a "sv ..." command into a config, any ideas
    anyone?

    On q2ctf1, how do I enable it by default?
    I don't know if it's part of the CTF mod
    or not...
