...are only some of the multitudes who have cited TURBONEGRO as absolute saviours of the rock-punk-metal scene. Others singing their praise include the THE HIVES, the JACKASS boys, THERAPY?, METALLICA and JELLO BIAFRA. In fairness, they can't ALL be wrong, can they??

You probably heard the name TURBONEGRO before - they actually split up in 1998, citing "drug problems, mental illness and a religious crisis" as the reasons. Not really funny, because it was all true! After a four year break, they're back with a brand new album and tour. Debauched, decadent and seriously entertaining, they recently opened for QOTSA across the States. "Scandinavian Leather" - the new album - contains such song-titles as "Wipe It 'Til It Bleeds" and "Sell Your Body (To The Night)" and comes two years after the aforementioned QOTSA, Satyricon and Therapy? payed their musical respects to the band on "Alpha Mother****ers" - the 2001 tribute to the Turbonegro.

The legendary TURBONEGRO play Whelan's of Wexford Street this Sunday 11th May with support from DIVISION OF LAURA LEE. Doors 8pm, tickets are priced 15.50 euro from all of the usual outlets.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IF YOU'RE INTO: Nasty, violent riff-laden Viking-esque, darker than dark death-punk rock!!
