    hmmz, how else can i access meh newsgroups then (wihtout going via usenet or something)

    does IOL have a newsgroup address ?

    Yes but they use snews so you have to be dialled up from an IOL subscription account to access it.

    Oceanfree has no usenet service.

    You could use the iolfree one.

    twasnt working when i last checked, hence the post. tis now tho...

    thanks eth0_, ill setup an IOL account just for newsgroups.

    Eircom dialup wont even get past "Verifying username...." on ISDN. Odd.

    You'd be better signing up to a free usenet feed, do a search on google, tis better than having to dial up to different ISP's to get access to usenet.

    i was browsing it at the time when i remembered the question.

    but eth0_, thanks to you :

    1) found newscache0.freenet.de
    2) which allowed me to go to alt.rock-n-roll.acdc
    3) which lead me to the site ive been waitingfor the past few months

    if i appear at the MayBeer (which is unlikely as ill be at the AC/DC Tribute Show) ill buy you a pint.

    note : acceptance of pint gives me access to your unmentionables
