Ive never seen an aero 800, only an 8000, but im guessing it has infrared, and the sl42 has infrared and does GPRS and CSD with it's built in modem, If you are on vodafone you just need to download the connect me software it will do all the hard work for you.

Sorry, that was supposed to be '8000'.

I've tried with the infrared. It dials the number but won't connect.

What network are you on, vodafone or O2, do you have data enabled on your account, if not a free call to customer care on either network should get it switched on. Is the phone connecting to the number and then giving an error or giving an error before connecting to the number? What kind of number are you dialling into (is it an isp or other).

    Hi Tazz T,

Can you check if the IR Port is available as an option in the Remote Networking's list of available modems?

(Originally, it wasn't an option on some Handheld PCs and needed a reg hack to get it listed to use in a dial-up. RE: Going Mobile with Windowes CE)

The SL42 handset can only do dial-up 9.6 kbits/s data (so it's not going to be very fast).
