Is it possible to copy a retail dvd on one one of those 9.2 g/b double sided dvd R Discs, as most of the dvd R disks are only 4.7 gig and the majority of movies are over 4.7 what is the best method on copying a dvd.

    Please advise.

    yes it is

but it depends on teh movie

sometimes it's not really 9.2 it could be 5.6 or something

if you extract just the movie and menu it can go down to 4.7

but if not you can resize all the files
    etc

    have a look here
    http://www.doom9.org/mpg/dvdbackup-guides.htm

that will show you how to have a dvd9->dvd5 .. with or without getting rid of extras
