When the smeg is this coming out. Thought it was to day but the guy at smyths thought I was speaking japanese and then told me that only some crap xbox games got released and castlevania.

Anyway I can't what for it. It's supposed to be more hardcore than a porn video starring Amps ma (hope I didn't go too far with the playful slaggings). I've been a fan of Treasure ever since I became 1 of the group of 10 people in Ireland that bought the sublime Gunstar Heroes. I also hold a huge grudge against the **** who stole it on me since it's now worth quite a bit of money.

Jeez, its not that good. At best its better than the enormous amount of shooters that are pumped out in japan every year. I played the DC import a good while back now, found it good but to become one of those shooter freaks (ala the bloke i watched complete ikaruga in a divx off the ikaruga tribute dvd without getting hit) you'd have to devote your life to it.

Then again, i wasn't shocked by radiant silvergun on the saturn either, if you like shooters tho, you'll probably love it.

God knows when its coming out, i hope you find happiness in the fact that i've played it :D

Got it on import last year as well. A great game but there are other excellent shmups out there. Mars Matrix for the DC is the business.

I'm also looking forward to Psyvariar for PS2. It's getting released on the Xplosiv buget range this week.

I went down to Gamesworld yesterday to see if I could pre-order it but they haven't a clue. They can't get me Shinobi either, which is supposedly coming out on the 15th.

Sinobi is the absolute daddy, i'm amazed it hasn't gotten to ireland yet. Totally unforgiving, old school game.

Er, Shinobi is fucking rubbish. I really don't understand how you can "not get" a perfecly balanced, sublimely designed "old school" game like Ikagura, and yet praise a horrifically badly concieved piece of crap like Shinobi. Sega have urinated on one of their most loved classics from a height by turning it into a poor rip-off of Devil May Cry. Woeful.

With the amount of 10pence coins I gave shinobi and super sprint in the arcade, they had to be good..................

Shinobi is far from the tat that is devil may cry. It may start out with a limited use, i'll agree with that. All you can do for the first 2 levels is hack and slash, but after you're given the powered sword, there a huge amout of difficult skills to master.
As for ikaruga, its good, but at best, its the best of a huge line of shooters that come out all the time from japan. I'm not a huge fan of shooters because i don't have the interest to sit there and learn all the levels, its just not my bag.

I'm amused that you accuse Ikagura of forcing you to learn off the levels, while apparently ignoring the fact that that's also the only way to play Shinobi decently...

The powered up sword adds practically nothing to the gameplay, other than the need to continually kill stuff in order to prevent it from sucking at your health bar. The game is still an utterly tedious and poorly concieved hack 'n slash title with unspeakably shit graphics, tedious gameplay and practically no redeeming features other than the nice FMV and the stylish animation.

Devil May Cry wasn't a great game, but it did ALL of this, better.

I think Shininob is a leet game. Ikari Warriors is pants. Whinji is just an angry, angry man.

Well I've played and enjoyed pretty much all of the Shinobi games since I played the original in the arcade 15 years ago. I'm prepared to give it a chance. It can't be any worse than Cyber Shinobi.

Some people liked the new Shinobi, most hated it, I'm going to reserve judgement until I play it.

Most magazines I read that panned it hadn't a clue what they were reviewing. I recall Playstation World putting "unlockable Joe Higatti 'costume'" as a plus point. What a bunch of muppets.

Overworks are releasing a sequel in Japan in December with a female ninja lead. They should show some footage at E3. I would have preferred Musashi and Neo Zeed again, maybe Yamato the dog, but maybe female ninjas appeal to more losers.

Meh, its all opinions, i liked shinobi, some will, some won't. I don't have much interest in learning attack waves in shooters, will do in some other games, once again if you like the type, mars matrix, gigawing etc. you'll like it.

Shinobi is utter crap. I've never played a game so bad in my whole life. I wouldn't release this on the SNES or Mega Drive it's that bad. Take my advice and others and do not buy this. Rent it first to save your money. You'll thank me in the end.

Shinji, is Radiant Silvergun as good as everyone on the net says it is and is it worth the ridiculous price of a modded saturn and almost 200 sterling.

    No. It's better.

is it worth the ridiculous price of a modded saturn and almost 200 sterling.

No. Prices for the game are ludicrous - NO game is worth that much. That said, I've seen it going for about 50-70 quid in Akihabara - if anyone is really that desperate for a copy and prepared to wait about six months, I can pick them up a copy next time I'm in Tokyo.

Can you PM me or something. I'm definitely interested especially since I've been a shooter fan since I was big enough to reach the joystick of an R-type cabinet and a Treasure fan since Gunstar heroes and before with their konami games.
