I heard a rumour that 'freenet' are to be a new contender in the broadband isp market here in dublin. (ireland?)

Not sure if they're wireless or DSL, probably the latter - or so the rumour goes. Anybody have any more info on these guys?
I plan to call them on Mon. morning.

    check out: http://www.freenet.ie

More competition must be a good thing, me reckons.

    Interesting morning...

Hi called the Freenet no. and got through to some generic call centre - who put me through to a Mr. David Stanley!
He was very unforthcoming, and frankly, surprised, at my enquiry. He wouldnt explain the plans of Freenet and simply stated they were looking into their options and competitors???

He did not clarify the purpose of Freenet in terms of DSL or Broadband, but he hinted at a possible 'high-end' user base package - lease line replacement and like.

BUT - he did say that there was another company who were dealing with residential and small business broadband - Smart Telecom? Dont know if that name has appeared here before, so I called them. They confirmed that they were supplying res & small bus. broadband, and would have a representative call me. I'm awaiting that call, and will post my findings!

    check it: http://www.smarttelecom.ie

    dont think this shows much:
