    I can do that!

    pings.jpg

well sort of, give or take a few milliseconds :p

tried a few times though, and that first one is always high. must be the network here making a fuss!

Not got any kind of image editing apps on the is PC tho, so I couldn't get the pic any smaller without messing around for ages, which I really can't be arsed to do.

The issue is not the bandwidth available, there's loads of dark fibre all over the country. It's the last mile !

They should just be fecking going straight for FTTH

haha i was kinda thinking the same thing!

Steve, your autonomous system record shows you only have four transit providers: BT ignite, KPN Eurorings, C&W INS, and Colt. I note your careful phrasing of "sitting" on the INEX since you aren't a member but get transit to it from Colt.
Your ASN RIPE record was last updated on April 17 2003, four new transit providers in a Month and no RIPE update is fairly unlikely. Less hyperbole please.

    Ahit's ok packet, don;t be jealous ;)

We're in the process of LIR membership to RIPE and then will be joining the INEX directly :)

Any by 'sitting' on the INEX, I meant its physically 20 feet away from our installation :)

how come I get the ticking off? plenty of people have been posting performance stats and saying how well their connection performs. if it was going to stick solidly to topic there shouldn't be any posts from anyone unless they don't have one of the listed connections should there?

If people are mentioning the connections they have and saying whether they think its good or bad I reckon it's pretty relevant that we should know the reasons.

If thats not what you want from the topic then fair enough, but there's no need to be arsy about it.

that was not a ticking off + i don't realy care if a topic goes
off topic , but i just posted a reply to the topic saying that i had just got my adsl when you came along with your " arsy " comment

yeah, but is it any good?

Have you had any sort of broadband experience in the past to compare it to?

    anyway moving on:

    answers : Q1 = yes , i'm getting good download's ( 52kbs ) nice and fast browsing and good game pings.

    Q2= no:p

Fuppin 56gay WITH EIRCOM NO LESS - but I never really have trouble with dem. Would go UTV if I had the money for the last while or could be arsd. But what I will get soon is the EsatBT 512/256 as the pings seem good but I am not sure about Drogheda. We will see

wasn't trying to be arsy, just interested in your observations of the service.

sorry if it came across that way, it wasn't meant like that. problem with typing stuff, sometimes the context is mis-read.
