    k im intending to go to DCU come september and i wanna know if there r ne problems connecting to game servers from the college lan, if so, can a tunnel program be used to access them? and is there a decent counter-strike community in DCU?

    Reached a new low. Some people choose there college on the social life, now we have people doing it on the counter-strike life:rolleyes:

    you would not be allowed this on any joe soap machine .. you defo wouldn't be able to do this if your in labs or library.

    if your staying in res, and get to know a few people they will hook you up .. but apart from that no

    Csd in Dcu get a big thrill out of catching people playing games and drinking or eating in the labs for that matter.... was in the lab one day and 15 guys got fined 20 yo-yo's each for having a mohaa lan..... twas funneh.....

    how easy is it to play from the on campus accomodation? and use things like irc. what ports are blocked etc?

    It's not a problem playing within the Res network, but the dcu proxy blocks pretty much everything like that going off campus.
