    By my reckoning boards will be hitting 1,000,000 posts by around mid january. Thats at my guess of 720 posts per day over the next 6 months.

    Whats the plan for the big 1,000,000?

    we're touching 2000 posts a day now.

    The counters are not "live" as in they are not a physical count of the number of posts in the database. When a post is made it clicks the global counter up one. ... but when we blow away a muppet and his posts, it doesnt take off the number of posts deleted.

    Hence every now and again we sync the two and the number jumps around.

    We're talking about what we are going to do for the millionth post. We'll see what we can come up with.

    the User ID field is auto incrementing so every time a user joins it goes up one. However we also delete users so the total count of users is obviously going to be less then the total count of signups.

    There you go now!
