recently windows (xp) has started to take ages to shutdown. timed it just there & it took nearly 3 & 1/2 mins,... used to take mayb 10 or 20 secs.

anyone got any tips/ideas (id like to avoid the dreaded system restore if i can avoid it)

system restore is piss easy.. anyway its probably a service thats running thats taking a while to shut down.. check task manager for any service running that looks like its taking cpu or a lot of mem and you dont recognise... also it might have your name as the user as opposed to system.. could be spy ware... but system restore is handy...
