Twenty-five percent of senior managers in foreign-owned companies have lost confidence in Ireland as a country in which to invest, according to Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny. Addressing the Naas Chamber of Commerce, Kenny blamed the loss of confidence on the government's incompetence, which he said has fuelled inflation and eroded competitiveness. Kenny said Ireland "has lost its once-envied lead in telecommunications access and now stands out as the worst in the EU for broadband access and digitalisation of the network."
