Windows 2000 shut down problems.

    I cannot shut down my PC through windows.Its becoming a big problem, I can see my hard disk being buggered by this just loast all my skins and favourites in opera 7.
    I also have to keep running scan disk.
    Can anyone help me?

    firstly..
    shut down each all non-system processes and try and shut down the box..
    if it does shut down..
    trial by error work out what process is interrupting the shutdown routine..

    if that doesnt work..


    are u using acpi?

    if so change back to non-acpi install..

    Well it started when i got a new power supply(bloody IBM thank god its just temporary) i dont think its any programs but ill give it a try anyway thanks.
    I dont know what acpi.
