Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone have information on travel to Australia to the Rugby World Cup ?

Considering going down under for the 4 pool games.

Isn't Mick Galway kindof associated with some travel agent ?

As a Leinster season ticket holder (aka sucker) I regularly get brochures from Killester Travel regarding the trips they run to French backwaters to support Leinster. I also got one for the World Cup, which did indeed feature a Mick Galwey led safari to Australia, taking in some WC matches, plus an International Rules game and maybe even the Melbourne Cup.

Only for those with deep pockets.

    I looked at it,

Abbey travel (AFAIR) are the only official Irish based agent but their packages are ****e and expensive, their pool match package doesn't include one of the games for instance.

ebookers is also an accreddited agent and they have fairly decent and more reasonable packeges. I thinkt the other UK agents will also give you a quote.

From what I saw, you'd be paying €3 -4K for a four match set, up to €7k to do everything up to the final, not to mention the 7 wks off work!!

Prices include hotel, flights, internal transfers and match tickets - but not main meals and BEER.

The agents are coining it, but there is a significant part of that fee going back to the WC promoters, not to mention that local hoteliers have all jacked their prices to suit the occasion. Unfortunately with Ireland playing Aus. in the pool, you won't get tickets for our best match without using an official agent. (I have a friend local in Melbourne who tried for both of us)

Anyway, my 2c, without going too ranty (I hope)
