    Just recieved the following......

    Xbox Live(tm) will soon be running a beta program in your area
    and we'd like to invite you to apply to participate. In order
    to apply you must own an Xbox, have a valid credit card, be 18
    years old or older, have a PC with email and Web access at home,
    have broadband Internet access at home, be able to connect your
    Xbox to your broadband internet connection with an Ethernet
    cable, and be comfortable reading and writing in English.

    Not everyone who receives this mail will be eligible, and not
    everyone who is eligible will be chosen. If you think you
    qualify, go fill out the application survey now at
    http://www.xboxemea.com/beta/.

    The deadline to apply is May 28.

    Hi Uzami,
    Any idea where they got your address from? Do you have to register your interest somewhere? Does having a UK kit on your machine exclude you from this? And lastly any objections if I add you as a friend? It was my first night on last night, good fun but the yanks do talk an awful amount of ****e. My Xbox tag is Daithi.

    No but I have been pursuing a policy of gentle harrasment with xbox live support over the preceeding months, so they have my details. Try www.xbox.com/ie and if not try phoning them.

    I do recall signing up for the uk beta test using my friends London address (after clicking through a link on a board just like this) and being accepted. don't worry that they don't have your original email address to cross reference

    Does having a UK kit on your machine exclude you from this?
    Can't imagine it does, they're beta testing the service, the more the merrier. How many broadband enabled xbox owning homes are there that will be registering in the next 7 days? The creation of an extra account on my machine can be used by friends/housemate etc.

    And lastly any objections if I add you as a friend?

    Work away. Put me down as friend and see you online. I've been warning them all that the Irish are coming.

    yup....but there's a lot of good people using the service also.
