New FAQ-Proxy out - called Qizmo

    The new FAQ-Proxy is out for QuakeWorld v2.0 to v2.21. Its called Qizmo.
    It is shareware and has a 15 minute timelimit :/. It costs $20.

    New major features:
    menu system,
    server browser/pinger,
    voice channels, (for real teamtalk, thats my f-cking quad, you bastid! :)
    data compression,
    FPS boosting, and
    lots of small stuff.

    A lite version will be released "in future" which will have be free, and have most of the original FAQ-Proxy features.

    MAN THOSE FAQ BOYS ARE GOOD!! WOOHOO!

    I thought they just weren't really bothering with the FAQ proxy anymore, but christy they have made a real useful util. I'm really inclined to pay the money.

    Two big points: network audio, and firewall evasion, lets see those nine-to-fivers getting it on.

    firewall shiit from info text:

    TCP connect:
    Creates a TCP connection between two Qizmos. Some firewalls filter all
    UDP making playing Quake impossible. This feature was put in to solve
    that problem. You need to start qizmo with -x port_num to allow TCP
    connections in:
    qwcl qizmo1 firewall qizmo2 server
    ^ tcpconnect qizmo2:port ^ -x port on the commandline
