americans seems to have become paranoid about all things terrorist since the 'incident'. no wonder its spilled over into the gaming world. its kinda funny but also sad when it comes to that point.

anyway, back to the game. whats the max amount of players per outfit? could we not just form an Irish outfit, with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. battalion. or would that complicate things for boards users who are not living in ireland but wish to join the same outfit.

This may be a little off topic but after reading the posts on that forum from the link above,i happened upon this,which i think is hilarious and disturbing at how ignorant alot of people are about Ireland.Its a bunch of americans and australians questiong if the USA will be bombing Dublin!Fingers-crossed none of these idiots ever make it into a position of power.

I was in the Terra Army but had a chat with Greg/Quozl and I gave up my sniper/crap lev 4 and started on NC Sunday evening after a spot of Lunch.:).
I'm now lev 5 and quite happy with my character...thinking about going medical route from now on.
Outfit last night was great..apart from one dude a bit obsessed about full groups and whining about exp.
Brought back memories of EQ/DAOC which I could do without.
Game beginning to get a grip on me.......
10.38 now Mon morning and I'm going to goand have a peek...:).

im thinkin of pickin up a copy of this at the weekend. i assume its good? umm but ive only got a 56k (wont have dsl till the very far future when some company wakes up and listens to us people in the arsehole of nowhere!!!!) will it be playable on that? the rest of my spec is amd 2600+, 768 ram, win 2k, asus 17n8x deluxe and my pride and beauty, a geforce fx 5900 ultra 256mb. (well i'll have it at the weekend )

The rocklet - usually set to autofire and ready for some close range combat with a MAX.

[edit: I plugged in my old 56k and tried it out on the Euro server. There wasn't any noticable lag compared to the 64k isdn i'm currently on, pretty smooth throughout thanks to the kickass netcode PS employs. I can't vouch for 56k in one of those massive 100+ player battles but it should hold out fine. ]

Thats what darkligter's for tellox...Theres some pretty good nc squads running about, this morning the squad I joined, took back cyssor from TR and Vanu, pretty much on our own...which was alot of fun...Both Tr and VS were pretty much unorganised each player doing their own thing by the looks of it

I was at cyssor...and I wouldnt go as far to saying you took it back, the most bases that TR or NC ever held was a shared 4, which is pretty easy to wipe out... and I've beaten a lot of darklights already, all you gotta do is run up right next to em with the infil's super-recoil gun and begin blasting..

hmm how odd, ok maybe taking it back was a little a strong description but when I left there was only 1 TR base and 2 VS bases left, so annhilating a much larger TR force is a much more acurate discription:p ...When we landed on cyssor, NC held about 3, VS 1, and TR held the rest.

I've been playing a lot of bf1942, and Planetside seems pretty slow, boring, nerdy, complicated and aggravating in comparison...

Anyone else have the same experience? Admittedyl I've only played it once since it arrived, so maybe it gets better.

Also, is it just me, or is flogging you a game then hitting you up for a monthly sub a bit cheeky?

Planetside's not that complicated. Just big. THere's lots in it but what you're doing is straight forward.

The only reason bf1942 seems better to you is that you have, by your own admission, played lots of it but only played planetside once and therefore not found your way around yet.

I played it for the second time last night and I'm now in an outfit (TR - "Retribution") and have already picked one specialisation (being a medic). The game just keeps getting better and better the more stuff I figure out

As pointed out elsewhere by others, this IS an MMO game and the server specs and bandwidth required to host games are pretty colossal. Sony are also planning to introduce new stuff into the game too, so that's what you're paying for. An ever evolving service that's being run off machines capable of running it with people dedicated to looking after them.

Was an advanced medic but it was a waste of certs.
Nobody stands still for heals and its as handy to respwn most of the time so I get no chance of reviving peeps.
The way i look at it ..its harder to kill someone..more fun too..
