we have 3 PC's in work and a mail addie setup, say for example info@howsyerfather.ie

is there any way that outlook express on all PC's can share the DBX's (well more accuratly, emails) simultaneously, failing outlook can do it, maybe there is a prog that auto-fetches the mail from the POP server and holds it on our "server" here?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You could try leaving a copy of the message on the server.
Tools > Accounts > Mail >Properties>Advanced> Tick leave a copy of message on server, and then set them to auto delete after x days. Or get Eudora which has support for what you need.

    Outlook (Cf: Word / Works chalk/cheese )
AFAIK Only one user can look at a PST at a time - (and mapi32 holds it open - so have to choose Exit AND logoff in outlook..)

Horrible way would be to setup a 4th account to pull the emails in and three extra pst files - so when a new email came in it would be forwarded to each of the three users and three local rules would drop that email into a pst file (uggggghhhhhhhhhh....)

There are some progs out there that can respond when an email comes in - then use net send to alert people so they can switch accounts to open it up..

    Bottom line
It's stuff like this that allows M$ to charge so much for Exchange Server - not in their interest to make it remotely easy...

It can pull down all the emails and then CC them to each user.

But that involves buying a license - or look at eudora/pegasus

    IMHO
Outlook Express (cringe) the only useful feature is that when you export an exchange global address list into it and then save the list it strips out the X400 addresses and leaves you with just SMPT ones. All other email features it has just don't compensate for the pain of keeping all the vunerability patches up to date - remember .eml etc.

just make sure that your "server here" is running imap and not pop.that way multiple ppl can "share" their e-mails.
