Maybe IOL have been waiting for a certain number of applicants before sending the details to Eircom, probably to cut down on miscellaneous paperwork. Either that or Eircom could be demanding this magic number to make it cost effective getting the technician to do it. It could explain the wait. What's the bet we'll all get it around the same time (despite having a week or two difference in our application dates).

    Yeah, i think you right!!

We'll probably all just be connectted at the same time. My mate was waiting for Netsource to connect him. I ordered off eircom a week or two after he ordered of Netsource.

I had trouble with eircom's sales line and cancelled my order. The week i was suppose to be connectted he was connectted aswell.

I hope Bizmark gets connectted today as it will give hope to the rest of us.

I am sick of waiting and want to be up and running on Tuesday as they said i would be. I know its doubtful but if i'm not, they better getter their mail server upgraded because i'm going to spam there system with complain emails. And annoy those bitches on the sales lines!!!

Man, its just too much waiting!!!!

 I SWEAR This is war with esat

i cant bleave the bull**** their peddeling "um yes sir we sent you order and er it um eircom,s fault um ya thats it!...........We will send out your modem on swift post and it will take 3-5 more working days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" NOW call me a fecking muppet but 1 week doesnt seem so damn swift crist almight that will be FIVE week,s (not counting waiting time when they didnt have the right damn forms to send to us)

I bleave all us esat "broadband" (seems funny at this point) should get together and start sending email,s EVERY day from here on out till we all get ativated rememind them this is all being discused in open for all the public to see and it is no douth damageing their business

If your interested in helping to get this sorted for us all pm me or contact me on icq (just press profile below any of my post) and we get something started

it,s sad we have to fight for a product we want to pay for

Well, Im on 'working' day number 22 now.. Still no sign, Im ringing them on Monday as that's when Esat said Eircom should 'activate' me (although Eircom says Ive already been activated) - I wont accept the modem being delivered to me in 3-5 working days- if I dont have it by Wednesday Im going to give it to them. Btw- Dont speak to the droids, ask to speak with a supervisor, make it known to her you want your modem sent *NOW* not tomorrow or the day after, but *NOW*

I have just sent this email to them I encourge you all to do the same :)

    " Hello

I have been witing for iol broadband going on 5 week,s now since i gotting my username and password from your company.

To say im annoyed is a understatement twice now i have called your "customer care" line and twice i have gotten a extra 1 week added to my waiting time and both "story,s" contradicted each other!.The lateist story is my modem will be sent by "swift post" and it will take 3-5 working day,s swift post is a over night service NOT one week. And my detaile,s where sent to eircom late because of a backlog "even though last week i was told eircom already had my detailes" is my line even ativated??? i mean what the hell is going on?.

Im sick of esat,s lie,s and stalling you said my line and modem would be here in 12 working day,s NOT nearly 25 ......Please take note that all this is being discused on www.boards.ie and mostly here
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=98187&perpage=20&pagenumber=1

I expect a swift reply (and not one of your 1 week "swift post" reply) OR i shall be taking my business of phone and internet to UTV

    Thank you "

it's sad we have to fight for a product we want to pay for

Even sadder that we can't get a product we already paid 12million euro for...(esat's residential DSL service ~40 users connected, total cost to the taxpayer ~400,000 euro each line)

Don't even *think* of complaining to comreg about this - they feel that Esat are not a Significant Market Player (err...after this fiasco they could have a point)

I'm worried that eircom are starting to look good...eek!

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,892 ✭✭✭bizmark

COOL 12 million euro for a product nearly no one can get FANFINGTASTIC

bah im fast considering going to utv

but the though keep,s crossing my mind that they screwed up the sign up of the 256k home broadband service they had before so much only a handfull ever got on it .those handfull had a great service though maybe if we few "hard core" hold out for long anuff the same might happen for us.................................SWEET jesus what the hell am i saying ill be long dead before then (and im only 18)

I think its time Esat realise what they are dealing with. They think they can **** with us!!!

Email them repeatly and remind them that all is being posted onto www.boards.ie and that any reply will also be posted. Plus ring their care team and remind them that all of the converstaion is being recorded and will be posted onto www.boards.ie

I have individual managers email addresses rather then the usual customercare@esatfusion.ie

Together we can break them to our will!!!

    Strength and Honour!!

    Regards,

    Adzzzy.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 68 ✭✭urban Ninja

    who are you calling lazy??

I'm work 7 days a week for ****s sake. Plus i don't see you doing anything about the problem besides slag off the people who are fighting for you.

Join the war effort against IOL!!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 68 ✭✭urban Ninja

I suppose to be connectted on Tuesday, just like when i was getting broadband of eircom, then they'll probably find a fault with the exchange and i won't be connectted till Friday.

History has a habit of repeating!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,502 ✭✭✭MrPinK

Do you actually think that mail bombing them will get them to connect you any faster? I'd say it's more likely they'll just set up a filter to delete your mails on arrival, or maybe even ask you to take your business elsewhere.

*sigh*. 7 days a week eh. You sure do seem to be on boards.ie a lot for that. What, is it a summer job cutting grass/cleaning windows on the school holidays?
You are a kid.....right? Your deeply offensive attitude gives the impression that you haven't yet waved goodbye to adolescence, and tbh i'm not suprised that Esat aren't falling over themselves to help you if you conduct yourself on the phone to the "silly bitches" of Esat (or whatever you called them) in a similar fashion to the way you conduct yourself here.

I also know someone in Cork who's been activated. As i've said before, not *EVERYONE* in Ireland reads this forum.

I disagree with the plan to mail bomb IOL but their ongoing ineptitude and unkept promises really leave them open to the deserved abuse they got from everyne in here, apart from your good self Eth0.

Could you get yer man in Cork to register in here and tell the rest how (s)he got IOL to sign him up, he is already a legend in his/her own lifetime and doesn't even know it.

Email bombing etc i will have notting to do with please do not use my name as a resion to "f*ck esat over"

I will however condone a simple "we havent gotten connected yet please explane why" email once a day or once in ever 2 day,s AS i said NO EMAIL BOMBING them flooding their server,s etc not only is it illigle it is childish

I am personaly very angery with esat and their awful treatment of me and many other,s but that doesnt mean im going to act the idoit for the sake of being a idoit

Email bombimg would crash their service and that is the last thing i want. When i say email spamming, spamming to me is sending 2 to 3 three emails a day with the same content complaining about the service. Obiviously people have perceived this as me implying that you sign their email addresses up to porn sites and god knows what. Imagine being a customer care rep and repeatly receiving emails from people complaining about the service. If one person emailed they would just ignore it but to have serval people sending them in would be un-ignorable.

All my actions have being supportted by people who have used similar tactics to have their connections installed or repaired.

eth0_ for your information i am a CSR (Customer Service Representive) and the attitude of the girls on the Esat Care line is below my standard and that of the company i work for. Such attitudes and reactions to customer queries would've been dealt harshly.

My sister is a helpline operator for IBM, and i had her call them to see if i was just me and she was appalled by their attitude.

And about the kid remark, I'm very blunt with my comments and it has always help me!!

How come you didn't have anyone else monitoring the threads while you were away??

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,846 ✭✭✭✭eth0_

ninja - fair enough, but can you please give an example of how rude the customer care chicks you spoke to were? What did they say?

Also, do you have the facility to mail bomb esat in the first place? :OP

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 68 ✭✭urban Ninja

Lets get one think straight!! I have never insisted on email bombing. I know the code for email bombing and have never given it to people who might use it. Plus routers installed in companies like Esat would have software in place to look for such code.

All i have asked is for people to repeatly email Esat until they are heard, i apolgise to the moderators of this forum if i seem to be inciting anything else.

Tactics like these have been used against my company, instead with normal post.

Okay, I am rarely at home during the day and was worried about how i would receive my modem if i wasn't there.

I rang so Esat wouldn't have paid for it to be delivered to a person not at home.

i rang and said all my account details. During which i was cut off with in a stern voice "It takes 12 working days for your order" I replied with "I'm just ringing to find out when the modem is sent because i need to have someone at home to receive it". Her reply to that was "It be sent out soon and will fit through the letterbox. Goodbye" and hung up.

Now i am very quiet and patience with sales lines due to knowing what crap they put up with but that was terrible.

I could also go into talking about the salesperson who was to busy to take my details to post the forms out aswell.

And the only reason i said repeatly email them is because that seems the only way to get a civil response.

What facilities would you need? A mail server to telnet to, some SMTP knowledge and some scripting abilities would be handy alright, but an e-mail address, nothing better to do with your 56k connection for a while and a lack of strong attachments to your current ISP is all you really need :)

Sorry if my last post had grammer mistakes in it. I should've read it but i wanted to get it off my chest!!

secondly can we stop the talk of email bombing it wasnt with ninja ment.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,502 ✭✭✭MrPinK

I first mentioned mail bombing. I apologise if it's not what ninja ment, but I don't think it was an unreasonable conclusion to make from this remark
Do you think we should start a cyber war of spamming emails against IOL??

but he has confirmed that it was not what he ment so you're right, we shouldn't harpe on about it. Shame. It's an interesting topic :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,892 ✭✭✭bizmark

    although very true mrpink
this is off topic and cheif seem,s pissed at the level of off topic post :D

we should get back on track before where banned or this topic is locked
