    Just wondering 3 little things..

Now that netsource has its slef fixed all dloads and pings are good?

Also has netsource stoped routing through the UK yet? or does it still have to go across to come back to an irish server?

And also if i was getting a modem what would be the cheapest most compatible modem around to buy? Even internal.. doesnt bother me.

    Thanks loads.

I'm getting downloads at 49.5k/sec and pings vary from 44ms to about 66ms (to jolt.co.uk)

Have netsource said anything about trying not to get it routed to the Uk then back.. or is this the way all the connections are done?

Its NOT a standard phone wire. It has 2 pins instead of 4. Most modems/routers come with them.

They have fixed their INEX peering meaning that irish traffic stays within ireland.

    The pings hover around 40-60.

    Cheapest modem.... search yerself :p

Spot on, unfortunately McAffee bought out NeoWorx and have rebranded NeoTrace "McAffee VisualTrace". Now, I only downloaded the thing last week, but I can't seem to navigate the website to find a link at the moment, maybe it's just too early ;)

Here's a link to NeoTrace Express (freeware) from a mirror though.

MAJOR problem with the NetSourse service with Solwise modems/routers have been reported. Stay clear as it has not been solved and Solwise aren't responding to emails on the subject.

Those pages only check to see if your exchange has been upgraded, not if your line has a sufficient SNR.

    Thx bkehoe
