    I used to have google as my homepage so I could get straight on the net and go look up stuff.

    Recently I changed my homepage to boards.ie as I was posting a bit more, I know a good few people here have this same setup.

    I think a search field on the index of boards would be a nice idea, small and inconspicuous so it doesn't look out of place.
    Maybe on the left hand side under the time so it doesn't look out of place.

    Just a thought.

    some people can't install these on work computers because of security settings, but if everyone seems to have one fair enough, i retract my suggestion.

    What about just sticking a shortcut to 
    javascript:location='http://www.google.com/search?q='+prompt('Search%20Google%20For:','')
    in your links bar?
