Dropdown combo in HTML?

Does this exist? I don't recall ever seeing one?

Basically..

<SELECT NAME="name">
    <OPTION>Option 1</OPTION>
    <OPTION>Option 2</OPTION>
    <OPTION>Option 3</OPTION>
    <OPTION>Option 4</OPTION>
</SELECT>

The user could select option 1 to 4 or enter in thier own selection?

Anyone know the tag for this?

Apparently, it doesn't exist.

The closest I found was a few people using Javascript to give the illusion of a combo

Maybe I'm misreading you here, but that code looks fine to me, ie the SELECT tag is the form element you want, although the user can't enter their own options in. Heres the w3.org link,

you can do a combo with html text, you dont need scripting,

i did a project in uni so i know it works though i cant remember the exact code,
