Apparently, some social media sites are reporting that this fight is now done.

Fair play to Eubank if true. GGG still wins but I don't think it will be as one sided as people think. Looking forward to it.

No matter who wins I think we're in for a barn burner here. Two bangers who don't box cute and who cannot play hide and seek!

Shouldn't be too hard to get tickets, keep an eye on Liam Smith's twitter. He said he'll be announcing soon.

Liam Smith? GGG? Sure what's the difference?

Not quite a rumoured fight, but Broner was locked up for 30 days for contempt of court.

    Throw away the key.

Lucas Brownes twitter feed indicates he's in talks to face Haye. I can't see Haye taking it unless it's for one of the many versions of the WBA title, or a final eliminator for one

Haye has far bigger fish to fry, like the local milkman and postman!

GGG v Jacobs looking very possible for Dec in NYC. Very good fight if true.

Hearn said of the possibility of Joshua v Klitschko taking place on November 26: "It's a natural fight. On Saturday, we reached out to Berndt Boente and since then we've had a couple of positive conversations and it's a fight he really wants.

"If the WBA belt is on the line, which I believe it would be, then it's a unification fight between Joshua and Klitschko. The deal has got to be right, of course. We've got Joseph Parker as a mandatory which is also a good fight if Klitschko doesn't happen.

"I'm confident. I don't want to get the fans too excited about the fight but I know Anthony wants the fight and Klitschko is up for it as well. It's likely to be Klitschko against someone for the WBA title so the Joshua fight is very exciting."

Eddie will be all talk as always. Not a chance he puts his cash cow in with Wlad. Will be Parker I'd imagine.

I think Parker might actually be the stiffer test than Wlad.

Joshua/Wlad seems to be gathering steam. I personally think Joshua will get butchered. I'll believe it when I see the two at the press conference though.

    On what evidence?

I think they are both losable fights but Parker has little to no defense which will make things a lot easier for Joshua.

Lomachenko vs Nicholas Walters on November 26th. One of the fights of the year.

Delighted with this. Lomachenko is real breath of fresh air. A genuine champion who wants to keep showing it.

It's a great fight, up to his last fight I would have taken Walters in this one but the smart money now says Loma.

Should be a stroll for Hi Tech. Walters looks a completely different fighter than the one who destroyed Donaire.

Agree. Walters has a puncher's chance and that's about all. He will get outboxed and eventually outpunched. I'd expect a Lomachenko stoppage after 8-9 rounds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 58,287 ✭✭✭✭walshb

If Walters cannot get Loma's respect then he gets smothered and beaten up. Loma has too many moves and too much variation and speed. I am not sure if Walters has the same fight and desire and talent he had a while back.

Apparently Danny Garcia is trying to outdo himself in the matchmaking stakes as his team reportedly offered Sam Eggington a fight. The money wasn't right for Eggington.

*This comes from Eddie Hearn but no real reason why it would be a lie

Danny Garcia is turning into a bit of a disappointment. He's a better boxer than he gets credit for but then we hear about this kind of rubbish.

Since the Matthysse fight he has been a disappointment. Obviously, the Salka fight took the biscuit but the rest were fairly well cherry picked as well.

Haymon fighter activity levels for 2016. Says a lot about how things are right now.

At least Tevin Farmer is keeping busy! One of my favourite fighters to watch.

Really looking forward to Walters/Lomachenko. The jury is still out on how Lomacehnko will react to getting tagged clean by a puncher. His D and skills are so good that I can't recall seeing a clean and heavy shot landing from a heavy puncher.

Lomachenko is 4 to 1 on. Quite a warm favourite. Walters is 3/1.....

A few fights I'd like to see,

    Joshua vs Wilder
    GGG Vs Canelo
    Crawford Vs Broner
    Gonzalez Vs Inoue

Hearn has signed Luis Ortiz! Cracking addition that.

What a pull but I guess the money was insane. Hearns finally has a world class HW in his roster ;)

Very much a rumour, but Pacman-Lomachenko? Tasty. I'd have to go with Manny. Lomachenko to move to 140.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭Burial.

140 would be interesting, but Lomachenko seems to be adamant on 135 or nothing...and at 135 I think it's an easy win for Lomachenko. At 37, I don't even think the great Manny Pacman can bounce up and down divisions like that and still perform.

They are the same size as regards height and reach. At 140 Manny would be hitting too hard I reckon. Faster as well. Loma doesn't have great power. He'd need it to discourage Manny. I'd love to see it within a year.

Big ask to have Manny drop to 135.

Pacman has been on saying how he has to really eat a lot to be a WW, and that he could make 135 lbs for the Loma fight. Roach would like it at 140 lbs.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭Burial.

Interesting. I do recall some article about his apparent massive caloric intake before the Mayweather fight (I think I recall 6000+ cals easily)...for once I'd be in favour of a catchweight. 137/138 and make it happen.

Any news on when Terence Crawford is going to fight a decent opponent?

He did fight Ricky Burns :)

I see he is scheduled to fight John Molina. Not much to say about that.

His resume is bang average. I am not ready to label him a great yet.... He has the frame to move to WW, but until now he has been happy to feast on very ordinary opposition.

Very ordinary? I think you're being very harsh. Since winning the world title in Scotland against Ricky Burns and more recently moving up in weight, who do you suggest he should have fought from that burns fight until now?

Well, no matter what way I put it he has not fought anyone of real elite level. Real elite danger level. In other words, I am waiting for a real live opponent that we can say, yes this is a test. And there are a few out there to tick that elite danger level test.

    Postol was certainly decent.

He was decent. Nothing elite or dangerous about him. Crawford has yet to face a real real challenge.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭Burial.

Postol destroyed Mattyhsse...Lucas is after his wars but is still a top fighter and that's an incredible result for anyone. Crawford handled Postol with ease. It's a top top win.

Rumours of Cuadras saying a rematch with Gonzalez is happening in March. Super excited by that and fair f*cks to Gonzalez for one giving a rematch to such a talented and tricky fighter and two planning on fighting so soon after the death of his trainer.

Deontay wilder vs Hughie Fury possibly for February 25th.

Fury will do well to last five rounds against Wilder. As Lewison said a mouse born in a house of cats has more of a chance.

Makings of a very good bout. I would doubt AJ is in a hurry to fight Wilder

Khan seems to be making noise about wanting to face Kell Brook in a "tune-up" fight before facing the winner of Garcia - Thurman. You'd imagine Brook & Hearn would drop the IBF title like a hot potato to make that fight,

Id have good time for Brook since he was the only one who had the b*llocks to fight Triple G and on top of that he exchanged with him at least. Khan is washed up.

A nothing fight. God only knows what the weight agreement would be for this. More avoidance of the genuine contenders.
