Aertex/Asbestos Question

I'm received my engineers report for a 1960s bungalow which I am sale agreed with

I'm concerned regarding the comment about the hallway "hairline cracking in ceiling - possible aertex coating may warrant a check as if it is it contains asbestos"

I have heard asbestos and cancer is linked

What should my next step be to find out if this ceiling contains asbestos or not?

    Thanks

A specialist will typically call and test. Perhaps they could give an approx meter square cost for removal which you could then factor in to the sale negotiation

Another route is to slab over it and leave it in situ - aesbestos isn't harmful if left undisturbed - it's when it's broken and turned to airborne dust that the problem arises.
