By the way, you can trigger an OTA update to Android 7 on eligible devices via the Android Beta program.

    Android Beta Program

If you enroll a device, you'll get the notification that 7.0 is available. Once the upgrade is complete, you can un-enroll the same device. Despite the warnings, your device will not be wiped once you un-enroll.

I've done it now on a couple of devices with no ill effects, apart from the apps that don't work on 7.0.

The beta program method worked fine for me.
I was worried as I installed the second developer preview a few months ago and it borked my 3G and 4G antenna for the 3 Network.
The official version works, to my relief.

Is it any good though? People on XDA saying it's fairly slow.

Any opinions on Nougat 7 for the nexus 9?
I've had the OTA sitting there for ages but haven't bothered updating for 2 reason.
    1. I'm rooted so too lazy to backup all me stuff, unroot, upgrade and then re-root
    2. I heard its slower than 6.0

It has been working fine for me. Graduated through most of the previews, so can't compare to Marshmallow.

I used FlashFire app to flash factory images, which rooted in the process and also used to flash custom kernel in the process.

O-MG, the Developer Preview of Android O is here!
    Preview updates

The O Developer Preview includes an updated SDK with system images for testing on the official Android Emulator and on Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel, Pixel XL and Pixel C devices. If you're building for wearables, there's also an emulator for testing Android Wear 2.0 on Android O.

We plan to update the preview system images and SDK regularly throughout the O Developer Preview. This initial preview release is for developers only and not intended for daily or consumer use, so we're making it available by manual download and flash only. Downloads and instructions are here.

As we get closer to a final product, we'll be inviting consumers to try it out as well, and we'll open up enrollments through Android Beta at that time. Stay tuned for details, but for now please note that Android Beta is not currently available for Android O.

They are really pushing the restrictions in O. Services and location polling will be more restricted, apps will have a disk storage quota and the system will start deleting from cache when over. Not so nice for media apps. Fixed font and adaptive icons are nice, my fave feature is the default auto fill app, will make 1password much easier to use :)

    Android Oreo is available!

People with supported devices should be getting an OTA!
You may need to be on the Beta Program to get it, if you want it now, sign up to it and you should get the full OTA update!

    Images are available here.

People should tell google todays date is not 1st April, the live-stream was a joke!

    September Factory and OTA images!

Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus Player, Nexus 5X, and Nexus 6P devices will be receiving the September security patches as part of the upgrade to Android Oreo.

That leaves 6 and 9 with security updates for Nougat!

Which will no longer get updates past October (Don't know if they get one next month)

    Possibly

    END OF THREAD!

As security support is coming to an end for devices running Nougat, maybe another update for 6 & 9 next month. So no longer posting updates here.

I messed up my Nexus 9 when flashing Sept Image (+ supersu etc), shortened story, thought it had boot-looped, so rebooted it myself and corrupted the data partition.

Device needed a factory reset, so now I have switched to Official LineageOS 14.1, and decrypted the device in the process!
