Hi. Going to have a look at this i30. I saw it when it had wing damage, nothing major . MOT history looks fine. Mileage seems average for year. Nice high spec model.

Check the gearbox, if it's hard to get into first, or crunches going into reverse then it probably oh needs a clutch.

Tyre pressure monitors are finicky on them, but you can just swap the valves out for regular ones and disable the warning light if needs be...

    Thanks Colm.

I've heard about the tyre pressure monitors on these and going by the Mot history it was an issue with this car too. I'd check the pressures regular on my cars, especially before a long trip.

Will check the gearbox. Anything else?

I think the timing chains on these don't give bother. I guess the usual, listen for a rattly one?

A bit of whistling from the turbo is normal, so don't get freaked out.

What happens with the TPMS sensors is they corrode on the edge of where the dust cap goes on, so the end of the sensor just breaks off.

Cheers Colm. What age and mileage is on your one now. Any major issues with it?

08 and around 130 m. Nothing major really. Will need clutch soon as it's hard to get into gear. Other than that it's grand. Goes through bushings, droplinks etc relatively quickly as it's on 17s and is driving very bad roads at speed.
