Check out some of the fantastic free museums and the national art gallery. Go to Hodges and Figgis and buy a good book, and then read it in the Library Bar in the Central Hotel, by the fire. Eat some tapas in the Market Bar.

Natural history museum is just off merrion square and open at. Free too. Could pass 30-45 minutes there.

Until then, bet on junkie fights down by the boardwalk.

Do we know why the airport bar is closed?
    When will it reopen?

Take the Dart to Howth, get yourself some nice coffee and cliffwalk there and some Fish&chips afterwards. Should be quiet enough that early.

You have to be there when the methadone clinics open for some proper junkie on junkie violence

Buy your hot beverage of choice and get on one of the Luas or Dart lines. Travel all the way to the end and then return.
    People watching is fascinating.

Go to the Green Gallery at the top of Stephens Green shopping centre.

Boars' Head or Slattery's on Capel Street. Have a big fryup and a feed of Guinness and read the paper. That should set you up nicely for a kip on the second leg of your flight.

Marsh's library or the Chester Beatty. Small token charge for the former.
