I'm looking to buy this TV for my grandmother LG 32LJ610V and I was wondering if it has Saorview and Freesat? I want something easy for her to use, so there is no need for 2 remotes or a box. She had the Walker box that had the Saorview and Freesat 7 day EPG but it's given her nothing but trouble. Thanks! :)

The TV has Saorview and Freesat but the TV must be set up with UK as the country

Then you will have 7 day EPG for both services

The Saorview channels will be in the 800's but can be edited to 1, 2, 3 etc afterwards

It's now €320 in Power City for Black Friday https://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-12-32LJ610

So you've hooked up your satellite dish &/or terrestrial aerial?

Do I need to hook anything up even though it says it has Saorview and freesat?

Yeah, Saorview = Irish terrestrial broadcasts, reception of which requires a UHF TV aerial (of a type suitable for your location), Freesat = free satellite broadcasts from the 28 degrees east position, same as used by Sky, so a dish installed by them would work.

Thanks for the detailed reply, so all I need is either a UHF TV aerial or a Satellite, do I just connect the satellite directly ? I dont need an additional box?

The TV has its own satellite tuner, so you don't need a box.

In most of the country, an aerial will only get Saorview, & that's just RTE, TV3, & TG4. A set-top type might work, particularly if you can get it near a window facing the transmitter.

That sentence does not make sense.

Have you connected the fconnector connection to the back of the TV ?

Have you went into the satellite menu and picked 28.2 and Freesat ?

Sorry, it was a rushed sentence.

So basically I connected the white cable which kinda screws in at the back of the tv where it says LNB Satellite, this cable goes directly to the dish.
I went into the satellite menu and picked 28.2 and freesat and pressed tune but it did not find any channels.
Im not sure what the issue is. It is setup as UK so that is ruled out.

I previously owned a motorized dish and a top box on which I 'caught' Hotbird 13e, astra 28e and others on.. the dish is aligned correctly. I can use the set top box to 'catch' the freesat channels on my non smart tv, however, when I connect the dish to my new smart tv without the top box I cant find any.

The dish you are using now is motorised ?

What position is your satellite dish parked at right now ?

Its at 28.2 E the correct position

The reason I asked about the motorised dish is because there are setting like USALS which will control the movement for the various sat positions using your lat long North & West Co-ords.

The second reason I asked you is the make sure that its actually parked at 28.2E.

Is your system still motorised ? You are not using Diseqc ?

Its the only reason other than changing something in the LG Menu for 28.2 that you'd receive nothing.
