    Hi,

was asked to look at a laptop, as some coffee on keyboard stopped it working.

I thought it was a windows machine but its a 7 year old mac book pro.

anything to try before I open it ?

like a windows sata 2.5" hd, can i remove an apple hd and put into a hot dock to retrieve the pics/docs from it ?

    thx

You will need a linix based os in order to read files. I done before with ubuntu just run off cd not installed. But with mac you may need to rename files and folders for windows to read it. As mac allows dots and other things like this to be used in the naming of the files which windows cannot read. This can take some time to do. I done it with desktop by connecting drive direct to the motherboard as dock may not work. Good luck took me hours and lots to playing to get it as i am a noob at ubintu\linux but worked out in end user happy.
