Very tempted by this £189 petrol pressure washer

Anyone got any experience of this Lidl petrol power washer?

    https://www.lidl-ni.co.uk/en/special-offers.htm?articleId=12455

My electric one is small and I was looking for something more powerful.
    Very tempted at the price.

3yr warranty too. I have heard Lidl are very good at honouring the warranty too should anything happen to it.

two crucial piece of info missing
    Noise level e.g. dB
    pressure level

In addition, the petrol motor will have a limited life/run hours/so check the glee

Yeah I was reading through the details and noticed the lack of pressure level.
Surely a very important thing to state.

I'm sure it'll be on the box when they go on sale?

And I would guess its one of the Chinese generic washers that are for sale on DD, Gumtree etc, so I'd say the pressure would be roughly equivalent to those.

For the same price the Aldi version below seems like a higher spec. Also gets good reviews on their feedback:

They look like a similar layout in fairness, if you ignore the plastic livery around the main components. Maybe made in the same factory!

The video in the Aldi one says it doesnt come with the attachment to suck water from a butt. But description states its included. Think the Lidl one has it included?

    Over 107db....noisy.

The engine on both the Aldi and Lidl machines is probably a Honda copy the copies are so exact nowadays you can actually use Honda spare parts on them.

Question is why do you want a petrol one, Is it because petrol automatically means power ?

    In this case it doesnt.

I wouldnt waste my money, if you want to replace the electric just get a more powerful electric. Less hastle and reliable.

Same **** pump that all those copies use, if they fitted a decent Annovi Reverberi brass one they would be fine.

as well as pressure its also important to check the flowrate as in how many litres per hour

Mainly so it doesn't have to be plugged in.
Handy to have it standing alone.

Plus, looking at bar, pressure, flowrate, I'd have to spend about €400 to get one with as much power as this petrol one.

Use the f^&k out of it and get it repaired or replaced under the 3 year warranty just make sure you hang on that all important receipt.

Petrol mix. Oil top ups. Filter cleaning.

    Zero crack.

Got one of those in Lidl last time they were there, February 2018.
Have to say I found it pretty good, although seriously loud, but bearable, only just.
However, I've a problem with it since Feb 3Rd this year and it's been an absolute nightmare trying to get any satisfaction from Lidl.

I've been passed from pillar to post, put through to Dublin, Germany... And then I'm told they can't supply the spare part I require (thermal relief valve), and that I should call back in a month or two.
Oh and the part is not covered by warranty either, so last time I called, I said right I'll pay for the part, I just need the washer to be working, it cost me €250 so it's no good sitting there now!
They said they'd call back in the afternoon to confirm that would be ok. That was last Wednesday, nothing yet.
So much for that 3 year warranty.
    Its a joke.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!!!!

Very disappointed with Lidl, and I've learnt my lesson.

The woodies one mentioned above is better, and I've seen it in action - it's nearly as powerful, theres plenty in it, and it's much quieter and a neater size too. This comes with a 2 year warranty. I would recommend this.

But it still has to have a hose attached

Why would you recommend it ? You've seen it in action but don't know about the woodies warranty over the lidl one.

No offense but woodies have a tendency to buy in some crap tools. No different than youd get in the discount stores with no different warranty.

I'd just go get a good nilfisk off Amazon I've had mine 6 years and it's the same as the day it came out of the box. And believe me it gets a hammering

I don't see the problem. I've had that sort of crap from Lidl myself. I just keep pushing back on them, forget all the other companies.

I had them give me the run around over a miter saw about 6 months ago and just kept asking them what they were going to do about it pointing out that the 3 year warranty was with them not some service company. The supplier just did nothing to start with.

If its in the instructions stating that some parts aren't covered then fair enough but if not just keep getting on to them until they do something. They often arrange for the supplier to do something and then the supplier gets all funny about it, in which case just say sorry I'll have to get back to Lidl and if they don't play ball get back on to Lidl saying that their supplier refuses to honour the 3 year warranty.

I know it can be difficult but I won't let them get away with it. tbh it wouldn't surprise me if my name was on a black list the number of times I've used the 3 year warranty.

    I have t

    The problem is the hassle.
But no, I won't let it go.
The above is just the update so far.
    I'm not finished yet!!

    But thanks for your advice.
    I'll call them again tomorrow.

They seem to have got worse. In the past it was a one phone call process. Then two calls now it takes several calls and a few emails to get anything done. Does depend on the product. Wife had an electric tooth brush that gave up after 23 months and one email to Lidl got me a number to call which resulted in a new unit being sent out. Only problem is the new one packed up after a week and I noticed that Lidl didn't get any in stock this time around even thought they were in the weekly catalog. I gave up on that one btw.

I had a £50 Nilfisk one which lasted about 6 years or so, and the cable just sprung a leak.

So I might consider going for a bigger Nilfisk one.

This is getting worse than I thought it would.
    3 calls today already.
They're not playing ball at all.
    I'm cracking up here.

Not trying to sidetrack the thread, but does anyone know if Nilfisk and Parkside (Lidl's brand) are compatible?

I have a nilfisk washer (love it) but want to get a cheap and cheerful patio attachment. Lidl's Parkside one looks decent, but not sure it'll fit.

    Agree.

My Nilfisk washer came with one, and I used it once. Its quicker to use the straight jet of water than that contraption.

Does the straight jet from the washer not blow the grouting stuff away though? (have never tried it, yet, as paving was only laid last year, but theres a bit of green mossy type stuff appearing on the slabs now from over the winter that id like to clear off, without wrecking the slabs or grout).

Believe it or not, HomestoreandMore have a water-fed brush that clips onto your hose, as part of their March offers. Supposed to be for washing a car (which I'd never do with a brush) but it worked a treat on the paving (well, what I've done of it so far, only got it today and gave it a quick spin before the rain).

That must be one rough brush!!!
I always use a brush on the cars here, great job.
Mind you it has to be a good one, with the softest bristles, you won't get that for €10, more like €35 with the handle, replacement heads usually cost me €12.

Still no reply from Lidl on my washer situation.
I asked to speak to a manager on Wednesday at 13:30, nobody there to take my call, the nice girl said he'd call me back within 24hrs (don't know how it can take that long) but anyway, no call yet, 70hrs and counting....

Not so much that it's a rough brush; it's not too bad. However, it is still effectively plastic spaghetti on a pole, and I just don't really love the thoughts of pressing against the car with it.

Not sure this offer went down very well. Still 16 left in my local Lidl they came 9 to a pallet and so if they got two pallet loads they have sold 2 so far.

They must have read this thread !

I didn't buy one yet either. Still undecided.

I got a lend of a Nilfisk E140 and it was very impressive. I liked the fact that its relatively quiet in operation, its something like 84db. The Lidl petrol is closer to 109db. That might get hard to listen to if using for a couple of hours straight.

It is advertised as having a 3year warranty.
    This is all factual.
