BT cadence/sensor that does not need phone attached

    I looked at some inexpensive speed/cadence sensors and it appears to me you need the phone connected all the time via Bluetooth, i.e the sensor itself measures instanenous speed and does not store it.

    Are there any that record speed/distance when not connected and will then download data to the phone when it connects again.

    Hoping it will have long life and I can attach to bike for weeks at a time and does not have display.
