Depends on your expectations, but seems useful.

Most impact wrenches around the 200 EUR mark and below seem to be in the 400Nm range with a few brands being 450. Many will be using the same or similar motors so build quality will play a part. 4Ah is a decent offering too so for 70 euro its great value. Going to pick one up myself.

I found them poor, seemed to lose torque every time u used it
Bought a Dewalt 899, 950nm of torque and its the real deal, cost me 165 euro bare unit but worth every penny

Ok, but without the battery, your tool is over twice the price. With battery and charger, probably three times the price.

All I'd want it to do is rattle off wheel nuts, and loosen the odd stuck but when it came to jobs like brake calipers etc. where you end up spending 40 minutes trying to take off one fastener

That looks like the one I picked up last time it was available.
    I find it very good.
Loosens the wheel nuts no bother

Grand for wheel nuts, using a proper impact socket Vs the supplied ones makes a difference. The fastening torques aren't accurate, I don't think it gets anywhere near 400 on tightening, I reckon it can loosen 250 - 300 at a push. You're probably not loosening rusty crank bolts with it but it's very handy for lighter stuff.

So not actually DIY, but for DIY I suppose

Lidl's impact wrench is coming up next week, anybody got any actual experience of it? Worth throwing €70 at it?

I’m guessing dewalt. Have that 899 myself. Was on Screwfix a couple of years ago for one of the best BAs I’ve ever been lucky enough to nab. Just over €200 with case, 2 batteries and charger. Great piece of kit.

Saw that and was wondering about it. Bought the pneumatic one a few years back but its useless.

I've just been breaking them with a breaker bar now and running them in and out with a regular cordless drill. Torque properly at the end. Little bit more effort but at least its right and fairly quick.

I do have headers to remove but had decided I'd rent an high end one for the day. Now I'm wondering it its worth a punt for the 70???? Can't beat Lidl for confusing things.

Just picked it up and got an extra 2Ah battery for 16 euro. Tried it on my wheel bolts which I re-torqued to 80 ft lbs (108nm). The 400nm setting removed them easily enough, 300 nm was a bit of a struggle and i wouldnt recommend lower settings on wheel nuts. Initially it struggled to remove the bolts taking up to 15 impacts at the higher settings, quicker using my 2ft torque wrench to break the bolts.Already knew it wouldn't be much good for very tight bolts but was expecting more. Price wise im happy with it though and should speed up most jobs. Worth considering for those who want to extend the life of their dewalt or Milwaukee too.
