I am more interested in the 'Intex electronic hard water treatment system' that's part of this. Quick google says this from Intex FAQ:
    Answer
The Hard Water Treatment System produces an alternating magnetic field which creates an electric field around the incoming water pipe, thus altering the scaling properties of the dissolved minerals present in the water so that it does not adhere to surfaces and form hard scale.

What's this black magic? Does this actually work I wonder.

That's if you don't get chlorine/bromine and balance the PH properly. Most chemicals can be purchased from eBay.

A large inflatable bucket for €400. In Aldi. A low-cost supermarket.

I was looking at getting a hot tub but the proper ones are mad prices (€8k+)...

Wonder has anyone ever tried getting one similar to this and building a frame around it so it stays inflated all the time? Probably a stupid idea but then the idea of getting a hot tub in Ireland is a bit stupid anyway.

I don't think the word kinky requires quotation marks in this context tbh. :)

I predict the queue for these on Sunday will be predominantly made up of people you wouldn't want to share a hot tub with.

Hold off buying one. Most of them will be on sale in eBay in a few weeks for less than €100 when the first electricity bill hits

I am serious. If you have to bang a load of flabby aul ones, you're going to need Viagra....or just happen to have a thing for flabby aul ones I suppose, but I don't, so Viagra it is.

If ye want one of these or a similar pool. I'd be picky them up now or in the next few weeks. If the weather goes good they sell out fast and then people will to campaigning the shops not to restock them.

Why wouldn't Ireland be suitable for a hot tub? You are going to get wet in the tub and they use them in much colder climates than ours.

eBay or a pool shop, not sure if there's any in Ireland. You'll need pH testers, chlorine or bromine, a chlorine dispenser, a pool net/skimmer, pH plus, pH minus, filters replacements, be prepared for increased electricity bills too.

If you don't get the pH and chlorine balance right, it won't last a week.

Extremely expensive to operate too. My cousins reckon their one is costing 50 euro (a week I think, not sure how true that is)

    Which Lidl?

I bought one about a month ago for 200 in Lidl which was a bargain. They are great value at 150. They had one left in Castlebar on Monday at 150 euro.

Heats the water up to 42 degrees which is almost too hot but you can set the temperature to whatever you like!! It only heats water up at about 1-2 degrees Celsius an hour so I cheated and filled it with scorching hot water from the tap in the house and then topped up with cold water. I ran a hose out to it in the garden. It takes about 700 litres to fill and has a zip on cover for when it's not in use. It's got room for 3 people max so great for couples with plenty of space to spare.
