Get yourself a safety razor, pack of blades, soap, smelly from shaving.ie.

If I order early in the week it arrives Friday. Saves a ton on those over priced, over marketed schtick.

The purpose of marketing is to purpose of advertising is to inform the consumers about their product and convince customers that a company's services or products are the best. it mightn't work, and might have the opposite impact for some purchasers. In this particular case it did put some purchasers off the product.

But hey, if it's blatant virtue signalling impressed some of you, I'm happy for you :D

I'd never say "Aww, are you ok pet, did our critisicm of your woke blade company upset you?" :pac:

The ad was what? 2-3 years ago and still posting about it in 'Bargain Alert' threads, the real debating forum for sure. The same types that'd throw out stuff like 'snowflake', virtue signalling (check) or have the letters W, O, K, E (check) worn out angrily on their keyboard are still getting in little hissy fits over an ad that didn't even say what they pretend it said.

Must have 'Gillette' on alerts here to get triggered.

Palmolive soap stick was about E3 in some chemist, boots do one as well

    Far from it .....
I will move away from any such companies if that's how they see their customer base.....

A bargain isn't really your opinion though, it's based on what you can buy something for today compared to normal.

    Suggest you unfiollow the thread.

Not if it's a crap product. I'd put Gillette in the same category as a discount store razor,so not a bargain even at half the price.

I got The Solimo Razor from amazon

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amazon-Brand-Solimo-Blade-Refills/dp/B07D85SP14/ref=sxts_sxwds-bia-wc-rsf1_0?crid=3N6WDOVSQF51S&cv_ct_cx=solimo+razor&dchild=1&keywords=solimo+razor&pd_rd_i=B07D85SP14&pd_rd_r=c0fa6603-5941-45be-96b4-a544704bca65&pd_rd_w=6yBvF&pd_rd_wg=p1ktI&pf_rd_p=0907528d-e69c-42de-9df8-628d56a339fb&pf_rd_r=D4HRFXNXVZF2AJKBY5F5&psc=1&qid=1615537552&sprefix=solimo+%2Caps%2C167&sr=1-1-f188f9fa-0157-48f5-a7ad-8e0892dbeeeb

And to be honest I find it gives a much better shave than any Gilette i've used it cleans easier under the water

The trimming tool on the back is not the best I find it hurts my delicate skin god love me

But the blades really last I shave most days and got the guts of two months from one of the blades

Might give those a run out sometime. Normally use a mix of Wilkinson Sword and the electric shaver. Get a few months shaving once or twice per week or so.

Again, your view on a product is subjective.

Did my usual trick of signing up for a new account & free prime trial with new virtual revolut to avail of free Prime delivery. Are Amazon offering next day delivery in Ireland now? I've not used them at all since Brexit but it said I qualify for next day delivery & blades will be delivered tomorrow by 8pm.

I chose the 19.99GBP 8 pack Fusion Pro blades sold & fulfilled by Amazon SARL. Cost 19.49e on Revolut.

Yes, in some cases. Since January i've ordered maybe 50 items.
Only 1 arrived next day and it was the only one that said next day. I've had a few arrive 2 days later but the rest within a week.

They'd be a bargain to me too only I can't remove the import duty when buying through Amazon, I don't have prime if that's the problem.

That's the problem. Without Prime, you pay for shipping. Shipping then brings you over the threshold.

Most of the bargains in here would be dependant on the user having Prime.
I have a student account which costs £3.99 (€4.67 per month through Revolut).

The pro glide or the fusion, Which is a better Gillette blade? Pro Glide is the Champions League sponsored one, I saw it in Dunnes yesterday.

Sorry for being stupid I'm sure I missed it earlier, what is the threshold you need to stay below to avoid the import duty charge?

From memory about €22 (confirm on Revenue).
But you don't worry about it on Amazon. They will remove it automatically. So if you see something, add it to basket and see of the VAT is removed. some items have no VAT etc so wont be discounted further.

Some tolls I bought last month for example.

Razorblade bargains always bring out the people who cant help the fact that they think they're better than everyone else because they use non mainstream or off brand shaving products.

Its the same with beer bargains ("That [insert beer brand name here] is p/sswater, I wouldn't touch that if it was free") or bargains for any high end goods ("That half price Ferrari is hardly a bargain, I bought a 15yr old Fiat Seicento with my communion money and it does me fine")

I won't use Amazon, given their appalling record as an employer.

I got some Fusion blades earlier in the year on eBay. I used this guy in France, but there a few other sellers around Europe. Avoid the UK to avoid any customs issues.

Do you boycott everything made in China as well?

Can't remember the last time I brought in anything from China myself tbh.

Buying from China and buying a China made product are 2 different things.
I bet 90% of the products outside of groceries you buy were originally made in China.

What's he like as an employer? You've checked obviously.

Delivered this evening by Amazon according to sticker on the van. Probably dependent on the stuff they keep on hand in the distribution centre here that doesn't come from England maybe.

What's he like as an employer? You've checked obviously.

He's a one man show, as far as I can work out. I certainly haven't seen articles about his union busting tactics and his exploitation of low paid staff while dramatically increasing his own personal wealth, so there's that.

That’s some trick alright. Spending over 6€ more than was pointed out 2 posts up. Way to go. Fusion pro vs fusion?

Love your anger over such a pointless post! I use the fusion pro ones as I find them the least irritating to shave with every day for work. I was going to buy a 4 pack refill of them in Boots the other day for 17 odd quid. Instead I got double that amount delivered the next day for 19e.

Also, the ones linked in the post you were on about were GBP 15.75 ((18e) when I looked, so figured I'd splurge and spend an extra 1e on ones I actually wanted.

    Have a nice weekend!
