Has the PSNI come out with a result on the Michelle O’Neill participation in the Bobby Storey ‘funeral’ ?

And there we have it folks the typical response from FG supporters but but but what about SF. I guess the FG social media meeting is over and we will now see the usual nothing to see here or deflection to do something else like BB has said above. Good one BB you must be on for a bonus.

    Deflect central lol

This is not a thread of NI politics

It’s relevant given the amount of criticism from certain sources for the Tainiste.

It is nohing got to do with Leo being under a criminal investigating for leaking documents

P.S SF had nothing to do with this information being passed to the media or the Gardai

What attending a funeral is the same as leaking a confidential government document to your mates? This is nothing but a pathetic attempt to deflect from the ongoing criminal investigation into Leo Varadkar, simple as that. Why don't you ask the Michelle O'Neil question on the many SF threads on here?

The shinners are mentioned in the exact RTE same article being quoted. Hardly deflection.

Like I said in my post this is the standard response nothing to see here and try to take the thread off topic.

But I thought Leo was going to sue The Village back to the Stone Age??

I was assured that there was "nothing to see here" and this story would be "dead by the end of the week"...almost 5 months ago. Remember, the US Election was going to swallow it in a tidal wave of news?

This latest development is most perplexing indeed.

You never let yourself down lad! LoL

Yes, denial might not be enough, has to legal and make them withdraw or front up.
It's a third hand story, maybe the village figure that gives them an out somehow.
But Leo has to quash this dead, if it drags on it will only discredit him, true or not.

Leo quashing this hasnt went too well

Things must be bad for Varadkar and FFG if even RTE is running the story about the upgrade of the investigation to a criminal investigation:

"Criminal investigation" -> seeing if a crime has been committed. No criminal charges have been made as yet, as far as I can see or am I missing something ?

Wonder will he step aside or be asked to step aside while the criminal investigation is been carried out.

    What case?

The Gardai haven't even concluded that there is a case to investigate let alone answer.

    They most certanley do now.

Is there a precedent on this island for what happens when someone is being investigated by the Gardai/PSNI?

Maybe we will have to shut the thread then, in case it ends up before the courts. We wouldn't want some poster on here to prejudice the trial.

If your party leader has any balls or wants to get a bit of respect back from the public, he will be calling for him to stand aside

Think the Justice minister has already tried on RTE just now.

    why did she resign?

She mislead the Dail and caused Leo to mislead the Dail.
She told a lie then later claimed she'd forgot about an email regarding a campaign against McCabe.

    Judge: i don't think there's a case here.

    Leo: Thanks Séamus!

Worst will happen to him he'll resign on a number of fat pensions and get some job with Murphy over in Brussels in a 'I hate the public' right wing lobby group.

Did we not hear on here, as Leo was the leader it was upto him if he wanted to pass it to someone.
The Gardai will hear that and understand its ok

I think many of the supposed respectable institutions are damaged because of this. Fair play to Leo for highlighting the systemic acceptance of corruption I suppose.

Very interesting article with two different barristers giving the opinion that Leo Varadkar has broken the Official Secrets Act.

And theres also another little tidbit in it to show how far the tangled web between Leo the Leak and O'Tuaithill goes, Im sure everyone remembers this photo

    Screenshot-2020-04-28-at-07.28.07.png?w=620

Who took the photograph for Leos spin unit? None other than O'Tuaithaill himself
O Tuathail has also been something of a acilitator for Varadkar: when the Irish Independent revealed then-Taoiseach Varadkar had heroically reverted to his role as doctor in scrubs, it was O Tuathail who somehow was on-site to photograph Varadkar for them. He had facilitated this important placement, and indeed the associated PR opportunity, with medical charity Safetynet of which he was head until January 2020.
    https://villagemagazine.ie/its-a-crime/

Funny thing is at the time Leo had said he wouldnt be allowing any publicity behind his return to medicine. But then the photograph gets published a few weeks later after he had got his buddy O'Tuathill to set up his return to medicine with a healthcare charity that O'Tuaithill was formerly the head of. And when the big day arrives who is there to photograph this momentous occasion but none other than O'Tuaithill himself.

Added to that is the fact that Varadkar is on record as saying O'Tuaithill is just an acquaintance of his that he might meet a couple of times a year. Yet here he gets in O'Tuaithill to set up his return to medicine with a medical charity he used to run and then O'Tuaithill just happned to be there on a random street in Blanchardstown to photograph the PR stunt. Leo wants us to believe that he barely knows O'Tuaithill yet the pair of them were plotting PR stunts together.

I can't believe heather humphrey's comments on this. Does anyone at FG understand separation of powers? Her commentary is actually more serious than the leak. Then again she has form from interfering in cases.

"Business Minister Heather Humphreys has again been forced to defend her intervention in an alleged case of animal cruelty, after a farmer said he believes it may have led to him escaping prosecution."

Lads... You're like a dog with a bone. This one is over. SIPO won't do jack ****. The gardaí hate the shinners more than anyone in this country, with the exception of maybe the Defence Forces. Not a hope they'll investigate this in any meaningful way.

I'd say they had a right good laugh a Chay Bowes and the editor of the Village ringing up making complaints. :D

oh dear, this post hasnt aged very well because now it turns out the Gardai are investigating in a meaningful way.

I also find it interesting too that the person investigating Leo the Leak is none other than Assistant Commissioer John o'Driscoll who has specific responsibility for Organised and Serious Crime in Ireland. He is the main man assigned by the Garda Commissioner to take down the Kinahan Drugs Cartel. He is also on record a couple of months ago as saying his intention is to "dismantle criminal gangs". I must say I never thought he was referring to Fine Gael but it turns out he is investigating their leader now icon14.png
