    Correct, this awful bright skin hurts my eyes, plus it has the prevalent UX approach of making a site look like it was designed for a nursery school.

    Site is slower.

    Double spacing when hitting return.

    When you quote a post there's a big white gap at the top of the post.

    I noticed some psots in the Limerick category and the date last posted is incorrect on the main page. They're listed towards the top (but not a Sticky) and above ones with a more recent date last posted, so that part is working correctly but the date last posted for those posts are incorrect

    Forum topics don't drop down when you mouse over the top menu. You have to click on them.

    I'm impressed with how close to the old Boards that they've managed to get it, can't have been easy on a new platform.

    Some stuff I've noticed so far

    • Performance is much worse than old boards (much longer to open a post, go to next page, etc)
    • If I'm in the 'My Threads' tab, and refresh, I'm taken to the 'Latest Posts' tab

    I had thought the Little button to "View first unread post in this thread" wasn't working, but it's just that the new site takes you to the first post by default, but later remembers where you were, so that's all ok.

    Is there an option to mark a forum as read? The little envelope next to the forum name says no new posts but when you look in a forum they are all new.

    It seems a bit slow at the moment, but I'm sure that's just a temporary thing.

    Not sure about the mobile version, but it looks fine on my laptop.

    Excuses will abound, lots of three letter anagrams and mention of "20 years of posts". Site is a shambles and it will take weeks and weeks fix the issues. Roll it back now lads this is a mess. I am sure lots of people worked hard on this, but its not working out.

    Early days but eh, t'isn't the best.

    Lack of dropdown menus at the top is a massive omission. No Follow Thread option that I can see. No dark theme. Mobile site is slow.

    I'm sure these things will come

    Those who say they've broken a great site or if it ain't broke, don't fix it... Are you for real? The old boards was based on ancient technology and almost an entire development team was dedicated to keeping it running, let alone have the time to bring in new features. They HAD to do something with it. If you looked in the Feedback forum every once in a while, it would have already been explained.


    And considering the sheer amount of customisations that have been added to the old technology over the last 23 years, not to mind 23 years worth of sh1tposting, it was never going to be as simple as plugging in an old database into a new site. These things take a while.


    Yeah, would be nice to only have been offline for about an hour or two instead of a week, but this is a free site after all. I highly, highly doubt they're done.

    Desktop is OK-ish, will take a bit of getting used to and presumably there will be progressive changes to improve it. On my phone it's close to unusable, so hopefully something can be done about that soon.

    For those giving out about no dark mode, Niamh said there wouldn't be one to start with, but that it's one of their priorities after going live.
