@Dymo : it seems like there's no way to subscribe to a forum only to a thread. Another negative with no corresponding positive.

You need to refresh page for latest post to appear or follow notification, one-by-one as it appear, to get them "cleared"

@smuggler.ie , I don't want two different ways of knowing that there's some action on a thread. Besides, I might well have seven or eight different windows open at the same time, so won't know whether a pop-up relates to this thread or another (and besides, I generally ignore pop-ups). The old site updated the "bell" number in real time, regardless of which window I was reading. This one isn't even updating the number of notifications on the bell - still showing "2" despite there now being 11 new notifications listed when I click it.

Really missing the followed forums drop down from the old site as other have said, but something else that I really used on the old site but I haven't seen mentioned here yet is the tool tips on mouseover of a thread that previewed the first few lines of the OP.

To ignore a poster on mobile go their profile and click on the part circled:

The lack of a ‘My Forums’ list does drift into ‘makes site unusable’ territory on touch, albeit one that is on the fix list. That said… the touch skin is pretty good otherwise, as of now anyway (may have been updated since this morning)! In terms of reading and replying to a thread, it’s pretty good. Definite frustrations (like edit now hiding behind another few taps), but once the My Forum section is added… it actually seems like a pretty good way to browse the site.

Desktop seems jankier for now, but I’m sure things like getting rid of the excess dead space in posts will make a big difference.

Been playing around with the site a little bit trying to get used to it and here's something that might temporarily resolve those lost without the 'My Forum' navigation on mobile...

A handy trick for those struggling with the mobile platform

If you go out to the main page of the forum you want to follow (Forum Games as an eg) and click 'Follow' on the mobile site (it's the button that looks like a WiFi signal)

Then navigate back to the main page and switch the thread view from 'All' to 'Following' - you will only see the threads in the specific forum you want then.

Hope that helps somewhat

I'm curious if this will put off those individuals who keep closing their accounts after at most two dozen posts and start again with new usernames. This could be at least one good thing to come out of this!

Can somebody edit the locale.php and give us back 24 hour time rather than am/pm crap!

A fix for the day format (current in American format July X) would be nice as well. Being able to see the times of old posts rather than just the day as well.

Also, is there a plan for fix the links within the site as in a rewrite rule in apache / nginx so that the old urls work from bookmarks / links within posts? Was the change or urls not factored in to the migration?

Does that work on an iPhone? I’m not seeing these “dots” at all. I’ve to go into the phone settings and tinker with them before I can switch.

I just noticed on the homepage in desktop mode that it seems to be only showing the most recent posts that can fit on a page, and I cannot see an option to look back to previous pages of posts - as we used to be able to.
