Ads need to load far quicker if they’re going to be there. The amount of vertical jumping a page does on loading because of it is a joke.

Im not a prolific poster but have been browsing for years, i can tell you now my time on this site will be less and less, its frankly a disaster, instead of browsing nearly daily, it will be once or twice a week and if it does not improve i cant see that lasting to long either.

The older site was faster to load, easier to navigate, this new upgrade is a dozen steps backwards, hard to believe this was seen as a improvement, the new boss of boards Odhran must have been given the job of destroying Boards, he is well on the way to success with this upgrade.

I dunno.....I'm using it for the last couple of days and getting used to it to be honest.

I know that My Threads are now My Bookmarks and New Posts are now Recent Discussions. That's 90% of what I need and I can bookmark any thread I like along the way.

I'm not sure how to access My Posts yet but I'm sure that'll get figured out too. I'm sure there's a reason for the change at the end of the day.....you get used to it or move on and I'm willing to bet that most get used to it.

There used to be a " Back to Forum" button at the end of a page, is it just me or is that gone too? I now have to scroll all the way back up, which feels like ages! I don't post too much, but I read a lot of forums, and I have got so much useful information over the years. I'm on the laptop, I can't use the phone to post! I know it will probably take time for it to work around teething troubles, but I feel like I've lost a friend!🙁

I really don't like it. It's not user friendly. On the old boards I preferred using the desktop skin on my mobile. I know I can select desktop on my phone but its a pain in the ar$e doing it when the old boards would automatically load the desktop skin. It seems really slow too.

Was this about money? Is the new layout much cheaper to run? Because that’s the only reason I can think of to justify this new layout.

I'm pleased the desktop site is somewhat familiar.

On the touch site my feelings echo many others, it is horrendous and a pain to be on for myself. I mainly browsed on the mobile and I can see that ending, the desktop version is no good on my phone.

Two days in and I still absolutely hate it. It's so much worse from a user perspective.

I've posted a bit and browsed a bit since the site came back, but I'm nowhere near as pushed as I was. A lot of the love and interest has died for me - I'm sure many people feel the same way. It's actually tragic.

Any stats on post volume? From what I can see a majority of people aren’t bothered anymore it’s too much hassle using the site.

I used the app mostly. On android phone and tablet. App has been done away with by the looks of it. I'm struggling to use this interface on the phone. The app was far easier to use. As a result I'm not posting as much

i have set the ‘My bookmarks’ page as a bookmark/favourite website in Safari. That way I don’t have to go through a maze to find them every time I go to the site.

The star butting that brings up the bookmarks doesn’t work most times on Safari.

Click on view profile and scroll down to the very end of your screen, click on Comments under Activity and all your comments show up. I’m using the mobile site. This is how I’m finding my comments anyways.

Boards never had an app, that was an unofficial unsupported thing that didn't work for long and offered no benefits over the touch site

I never knew that. I've been using the app for close to 10 years and found it pretty good. I've never used touch before this week. I looked in the app store and just discovered that the app hasn't been updated since 2016! 🤣

I've been on boards the last 15 years so I know from previous upgrades etc that it appears the level of resources is very low so I'll give them time to sort it out but it is surprising how the touch site went live in such a state. Almost as if they just pushed it live without ever seeing it. Imo it would have been better to disable the touch site until it was ready for go live. I just hope the touch site is fixable. I've resorted to the desktop site but clearly using that is a step backwards.

Don't think you can. Not yet anyway. All you can do is go back and edit it by changing the text to N/A or double post or something. I'm sure the delete option will be added.
