Its safe to say had he been playing on a full card this year he'd likely be well inside the top 100 of the fed ex by now. To be currently ranked in the top 125 is impressive considering he has been working off limited starts.

I don't see enough of Seamus on the coverage so it's hard to give an opinion on his game but looking at the stats his putting seems to have improved massively.

He's gone from being around the 200 mark in strokes gained putting to inside the top 100. That's a big jump.

Interestingly he's 35th in total strokes gained on the tour. I believe that may be skewed by the amount and difficulty of the events he's played though. But impressive nonetheless.

Seamus off to a flyer in round two of the Barbasol Championship in Kentucky. A birdie-birdie start and now top of the leaderboard on his own at 9 under. Keep it lit Seamus!!

Pretty sure he switched his putter grip at the start of the season (to claw??) and was saying hes now getting comfortable with it

Won't get a better chance than this opportunity.

A win obviously is the target but as someone looking in from the outside, would be satisfied with him closing out really strongly and securing the top 3-5 that has been right there for him the last few weeks.

A win is certainly not out of the question I feel though.

Start with a birdie again, hopefully get a few more. Leader (Hahn) shot a 60 so is in at -17

Doing very nicely now at -15, -4 for the day, after 8. Put a bunker shot to 6 inches that could even have been an eagle. Should at least get to the current clubhouse leader on -17 ( that guy shot 60!)

A very goid start to the front 9 keeping himseld in the hunt. Unlucky not to hole out on the par5 from the bunker for eagle after a fantastic 3rd shot.

Probably needs no worse than 67 to keep pace today as the soft conditions are allowing these guys to take the course apart.

-4 for the front 9, some birdie putts burned the edge.

That's just to keep pace with the leaders, so far so good.

Is there any way to watch this in Ireland no?

It has been on Sky Sports Mix all week. Hopefully it will be on there again tomorrow night.

Seamus should be about 10 clear but his putter went absolutely stone cold. He kept leaving everything short.

He's probably in a good spot 3 back to be able to keep firing at pins in the last round and finish off in style. It always gets tight in the last couple of groups in the lead, no matter how easy the course.

Hopefully he can post another 5 or 6 under and cement at least a top 3 and maybe that all elusive W.

He looked to run out of momentum a bit on the back 9.

I’d hope that he’s not getting too mentally tired after his good run of form. It takes a lot of concentration to keep yourself in contention every week so fingers crossed that he can hold it together for one more good round. He needs a high finish not to fall back with all the points available at the open this week.

Hopefully a top 5 finish and consolidate his position in the top 125, that has to be his ultimate target for this season. Great to see the consistency he has shown in recent weeks. As hard as it is to win a tournament you feel that it is getting closer and if he secures his card in the next week or so removing that pressure will also help him.

Birdie start for Seamie. Keep it going.

Nice start with a birdie on the first. Be great to see him copperfasten his card for next year. And maybe even a bit more than that (if we dare to dream).

Hopefully the putter is at least somewhat warmer than yesterday. He'd be leading if any of the back 9 birdie putts dropped.

Good start to the 4th round, hopefully a sign.

3 greens in reg to start out of 3. Giving himself plenty of chances at least :) he said after the second round, he reckoned he needed to shoot somewhere in the mid 20's under par for the week to have a chance at winning. That's looking like a decent shout at the moment

3yd putt for eagle on the par 5 5th

9 o clock cant come quick enough for the live coverage to start on Sky Sports Mix

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,200 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Poston scoring well so a win will be difficult. Hopefully keeps up his own scoring so can get his card now

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,346 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

nearly holed his chip for eagle on the par 5 8th. Hopefully he can sink the putt for birdie from 5 feet now

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,892 ✭✭✭The Big Easy

Just tuned in in time to see a three putt bogey on 9. He's playing so well, but just a couple of bogies will leave tyre marks on his back.

Come on Seamus, finish it off! If not a win please God a top 5 to take all the pressure off himself going forward.

Don’t see anyone catching Poston, he’s on fire and looking very relaxed. Hopefully Seamus can recover from the bogey and claim P2.
