Id like to be in the crowd there, a lot of off the ball from what I make out

Kelly going off is a big loss.

What is the telly showing lads. We are getting hit late at every f*****g opportunity. Time to fight fire with fire.

Mayo haven't scored in 23 minutes, just plenty of sly digs.

How in the name of Jesus was that a yellow card?

McConville's backseat reffing is getting annoying. Galway very good at getting men around the tackler.

Listen to the Irish version on the news channel. I can't abide marty morrissey anyways.

Mayo look like they're doing a lot of off the ball sh1t. O Shea fell down quiet easily in the square.

    Mayo are rattled imo

Havent even challenged for one Mayo kickout and theyve scored 1-2 directly after winning their own.

Stats like that lead to nothing but losses.

    Mayo destroying Galway here

    Galway look out of gas

Its not hard if after every score theyre getting a 50/50 chance to win the Galway ball and after a Galway shot they're getting an uncontested possession to take up the field and build play again.

Joyce taken to school by Horan. Time to get a manager who understands the modern game. Can't understand how we have a 3 times all ireland winning club manager in the county and he doesnt even seem to be considered. Especially with the way they played the game

New management teams for hurlers and footballers hopefully. 2 embarrassing performances.

Well at least Marty is happy

Another embarrassing weekend for Galway GAA.

Three point second half after leading by 5.

Mayo havent lost a single kickout and probably won more than half of ours.

May as well not turn up to the big games if you haven't worked on the basics.

Be like a rugby team not contesting line-outs and just randomly throwing theirs in hoping someone gets up for it.

You'd want be significantly better than a team to give them more possessions and expect to win.

Least we might see the back of PJ and SoN after these rudderless displays.

Pathetic 2nd half. Galway's conditioning is barely senior club level. They were completely gassed with 20 minutes left to play. That's what happens when it's jobs for mates.

tough luck, not up to the fight when it got going, long summer for ye npw

I dont think ye can be blaming the ref this time, usual guff

Another pathetic capitulation. In a way just glad it's over. I think everyone knew this team was going nowhere fast. The Monaghan game confirmed as much.

At least Mayo will probably be competitive against Dublin. Dublin would have feasted on our kickouts and beaten galway by 20 points even in their makeshift state. Not really sure how we expected to win when we are clueless on our own kick out yet again and gave mayo free ball on their own kickout.

The amount of work needed to work the ball out on a warm day was always going to take its toll. Basically once the penalty happened it was over. We lost a couple of key players but even so it just highlighted the lack of depth.

Like in most games we had lots of men behind the ball but even in the first half on numerous occasions oceans of space opened up down the middle.

Joyce has been an unmitigated disaster as manager but really the problems in galway run far deeper than just changing the two managers

After this weekend I really hope there is a serious inquest in galway. You know well the county board will bury their head in the sand though. Hurlers beaten comprehensively by two also runs and footballers have now won 1 game in croke Park in 20 years which is a shameful record .

I find it difficult to see galway anywhere near winning a football all ireland for the medium to long term. Its sad to see the lack of any real plan as to how to make galway competitive again. The top teams all have proper setups behind the scenes. Galway just don't see to have any plans on how to do the basics of the modern day game

home with you now, like a bunch of women with your handbags and tights when the mayos woke up, sly little fouls like in the semi, laughing stock again,

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,662 ✭✭✭elefant

Take a walk and a have a few deep breaths lad.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,671 ✭✭✭Borders no.2

We were deservedly beaten. No one is arguing otherwise.

The fact ye set up with damaged limitation against a laughing stock should tell you that you have more than enough of your own problems to worry about.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,152 ✭✭✭threeball

We have players good enough in both codes to compete for all irelands but the county board are a massive road block to any progress. They have no ambition. They'd rather penny pinch year after year than invest a little more to provide the top level backroom that's required to win all irelands. Theres probably only 100k in the difference between providing it and not. So they'll choose to skimp on s&c, video analysis, managers expenses and wonder why we never get over the line despite having the biggest conveyor belt of talent in the country in both codes.

Something incredibly sad about going to another county thread to have a cut when your team were knocked out by them a few weeks earlier. I doubt ye will see many Galway posters doing likewise if/when Mayo are defeated.

    Get a hobby.
