What's the shipping charges to Ireland?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,379 ✭✭✭Skuxx

What's the shipping charges to Ireland?

€5.99 or €7.99 for delivery depending on how fast you want the items.
It didn't see where they ship from, UK or EU. Could be possible customs fees if shipping from UK

Hang on a sec, is this online only?
I was thinking of going down to the nearest shop and have a look.
I assume shops are open now, not as arsed to peruse online, sizing could be a pain and I like to see what Im getting.

I think all Burton shops are closed down in Ireland?? Aren't they part of the Arcadia group along with Topshop/ Dorethy Perkins etc that went last year!!

The order page claims that "*All taxes are included in product prices"

Dang! I wouldnt have been in a shopping centre, maybe 2 times in the year prior to Covid, except maybe to drop into a Boots store.
There was one near me, didnt know it was gone with that group

Cheers Patsy, need a coat :)

Did anyone manage to get 15% off by signing up to the newsletter? I tried with a couple of different email addresses, it says the code is sent ASAP but no joy a couple of hours later

I signed up on the UK site, got the 15% off code. Ordered through there (£4.99 shipping to Ireland). If it doesn't get stopped for VAT etc great value, if it does than for what I ordered should cost the same as ordering from .com/ie site as everything on the UK site cheaper

    Burton is owned by boohoo.

Quality was always crap. I suspect it's super crap from boohoo as I don't think they bought any stock, so everything is probably from the boohoo sweatshops.

So don't expect any sort of quality

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,826 ✭✭✭faolteam

so more than likely its a customs charge

Nope, they do all the customs work just like all boohoo websites. Delivered duty and taxes paid.

But it will be crap quality.

Gosh. I thought quality will be like from Next.
Gonna return the items for free if it's low quality items.

I have just had them confirm delivery is from the UK.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,915 ✭✭✭masterboy123

Does this mean 23% on the total price of the package will be charged on arrival?

They don't refer that Irish Vat has been paid so I expect yes, I will be subjected to 23% on the total amount paid.
Also, the freight carrier are likely to hit with a charge... possibly up on 10 euro if similar to an post.
So, I expect to have to pay near 35 euro max on 100 euro order

I have wattsapp'd them for clarification on the customs and excise.

    Update. Pointed to their website

    International Delivery

    1. If you order Products from us for delivery to a destination outside the UK:
    a) your order may be subject to import duties and taxes which are applied when it reaches the delivery destination. Please note that We have no control over these charges and We cannot predict their amount. You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order. We will not be liable or responsible if you do not pay any such import duties or taxes;

This is the reply I got today from their customer services:

"Hi there, thanks for getting in touch. There should be no further charges on the order but if there are customs/duties taxes please pay for this and send the receipt over and we will get it refunded for you.

Has anyone been able to track their order ?
I paid for the 2 day option and have no tracking

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 323 ✭✭leinster93

Shows despatched on the UK site - Track order links to fastway couriers but no tracking for Ireland as it's not picked up by the courier yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 310 ✭✭luvlyjubbly

Just to confirm I ordered from the .UK site and didn't have to pay customs/VAT, quality of clothes grand for the price

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,915 ✭✭✭masterboy123

    No VAT/import fees paid.

I returned some of the clothes last week but no refund yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 701 ✭✭✭Ljmscooter

I got a paddington bear type duffle coat , around 30 years ago from Burtons in Manchester, its still as good as new. Perhaps things have changed since, but it wasn't always crap .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 116 ✭✭djo789

Yep i did no problems once I figured how to do the return.

Yep, you used to get great classics. And a lot was made in the UK

Then Philip green bought it and quality dropped.

Recently boohoo bought the brand and it simply is a brand name on the low price throwaway stuff boohoo sell. Any connection with the classic Burton is long gone.
