Are there standard rules for a golf classic? Is it the same as a scramble?

No, it can be anything, prepare yourself for outlandish scores to win

Turned out to be simple enough. Best 2 stableford scores on all 18 holes.

Out of interest do you know the winning score?

In that format I'm guessing 85+ points given how scores at going at moment

Wouldn't be surprised if 100+, in classics you get mad handicaps and gimmies

Played an classic fundraiser for local gaa team two weeks back and we got 80, winning score was 110.

But winning score was always 100 each year.

    110 is unreal scoring really.

6 points a hole is 108 , take some consistent players along with necessary handicaps to hit that total

It's not consistent players, it's cowboys turning up to classics and dream cards been handed in. I've seen 20+ handicappers handing in almost level par rounds in classics.
