Eir F2000 Problems Setting up Bridge Mode

Hi I hope someone can help me with this.

Just got Nest Routers to create a mesh for access to a shed area outside and some wifi black spots in part of the house.

We have the Eir F2000 modem/router.

Trying to set up the Nest Router but when I try to switch eir router to bridge mode just keeping getting this error message:

The current WAN is not connected, please choose the connected WAN. The bridged mode will disable the service of TR069, VOIP, DHCP, Firewall and WIFI when you click OK. If your want to recover the previous setting, you need reset the home gateway.

I have the LAN1 on the eir router connected to the WAN on the Nest router.

Can anyone advise? I can't find a solution online.

Is it FTTC or FTTH you have?

If it is FTTH , you could just get rid of Eir router altogether, just add managed network switch with VLAN features ( as NEST doesn’t support VLAN) between ONT and NEST

thanks, I am actually not sure, as it's my folks place - how would I find that out? would I know from the router admin settings?

I'd say it is FTTC because the best package they can get at their address (when you check online with Eir) is up to 60mb.
