My partner is starting college in September doing architecture. A friend has told her she will need something that can run "CAD, Photoshop, Sketch up, Formit, Revit and then a lot from Adobe cloud aswel such as Indesign, Illustrator. And will need a lot of space on the laptop to save the programs and projects". It needs to be a laptop cos she'll need to bring it in and out of college. I dont know if a laptop/desktop hybrid exists. Maybe she needs both a laptop and desktop to manage everything?

Our current computer is a 10 year old laptop so need everything in a new laptop.

Would it be possible to get a laptop that would also run VR games too? Would be willing to spend a bit more if possible.

    1. What is your budget? €1,500, could push that a bit if needed or would lead to a better machine.

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Using auto CAD, photoshop and those listed above. And if possible, VR gaming.

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

    5. Do you need a monitor? If it's a laptop then no?

5a. If yes, what size do you need. [19'/20'/22'/24'/etc.] I assume bigger is better for CAD?

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future?

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Keyboard/Mouse/Wireless Card/Card Reader/Speakers/etc.] Mouse maybe better for those types of programs.

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Dont know what this is, so no.

    8. How can you pay? Credit/Debit Card/Cash

    9. When are you purchasing? Within the next 2 months

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Looking for a laptop so dont think this is relevant.
