Yea agreed regarding Shaw - i wasn't sold on getting him but at over 50% ownership - felt had to get him - he was the most owned player in GW1 - madness.

Yea i had a play round earlier on, i could get a team that was well balanced on paper with Salah, Bruno, 7.5m midfielder*, Kane and Lukaku

*7.5m is Greenwood/Pogba/Mount/Jota - so plenty of talent available. Also included a playing 3rd striker in Dennis. So like it's possible but means no TAA basically. Personally won't go down that road unless Kane moves to City and Rom shows that he's essentially - while he scored today he only got 1 against a depleted Arsenal team.

    I have 2 FT & 0.5 ITB

I'm currently thinking Shaw out at the moment too, move to Dier and that's an extra 1.0 to play with.

Maybe move Mahrez out for Son for the 2 nice Spurs fixtures but I might wait to see their European game first.

Eventually will sacrifice Mahrez/Son or H. Barnes out for a 4.5 and then upgrade Toney to Lukaku. With enough in the bank to move to Kane if needs be.

But then price changes over that time too....

I'll deal with the Tsimikas / White / Veltman problem another time!

    Ings and Tsimikas out

    Lukaku and Tanganga in

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,717 ✭✭✭✭Muahahaha

Im similar planning a Mahrez to Son move but read he was off the pace against Wolves today and he had a niggle in the warm up before the game. His next two fixtures are good though but I'll wait as long as possible in case theres any news.

Had always planned not getting Lukaku in till GW7 when Chelseas fixtures have a massive swing and they face six bottom half of the table clubs in a row, he could do some serious damage during that run. But can see others getting him in now quick even though they face Liverpool, Villa, Spurs, City in the next four games. He is bound to have price rises between now and GW7 so might have to change the plan.

If you haven't sold him yet, Tsimikas is due to rise in the next day or two, you may as well wait to make an extra 0.1mil

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,416 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Out of curiosity, is there a reason why why you are selling Ings when he has scored 2 in 2, getting bonus in both, before he plays a promoted side?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,746 ✭✭✭dr.kenneth noisewater

Cant see any way of getting Son or Lukaku in without selling TAA. Have 2FT so if Son is ok think I'll get him in for Barnes or Raphinia and then TAA to 4.5 Def. Tsismikas and Toney are also issues but struggling to see decent replacements for either atm

    Targett out

Cresswell in - had to risk before potential drop tonight for Targett

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,511 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

It's "well balanced" for attacking output alright 🤣

The 5 players make it 55.9. Dennis and 2 keepers (8.5) leave you with 30.5 for the remaining 7 players.

    Two 4m players

    Five 4.5m players

Certainly possible and interesting to have a look at it but but I think it's a step too far. You would also want to be acting relatively fast on it, as any 4 or 4.5s worth having will be jumping up in price over the next few GWs.

Looking forward to this season as it looks like there'll be quite a few big decisions around formations and premium players.

Defence: Tsimikas and 2 dud 4mil defenders (Manquillo & Obamdele)

    Midfield: Barnes & Mahrez

    Ive 2 FT’s.

With Liverpool playing Chelsea next week I need to get a playing defender in (have TAA) - do I do a dud defender to Livramento now

or do I ship out Mahrez, get Jota/Pogba/Greenwood & upgrade to a 5.5m defender?

kind of want to give Mahrez til the IB and had in mind to stick with team.

Using the 1 defender transfer I can bank 1 & keep 1 until after IB and then look at Chelsea assets!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,956 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

Ha here's more balanced team then - and give you rotating keepers, Guaita/ESR could be downgraded to get extra 1m if needed,

    Sanchez, Guaita

    White, Alying, Dier, Coady, Duffy

    Bruno, Salah, Dallas, ESR, Gilmour

    Kane, Lukaku, Dennis

But yea this season should be interesting, but could be equally frustrating to be on the wrong side of a 50/50.

    In exactly the same situation

    thinking Targett-> Liver

and see how the rest pans out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 258 ✭✭Trey13

Ended up doing Amartey and Brownhill to Livramento and Bissouma. Had 2FT and happy with my team. I know Amartey will rise but I think he will lose his place in the team. Livramento seems to have displaced Walker-Peters. Going with Bissouma as my 4.5 mid now. Happy to get that sorted.

ings is at home to Brentford next weekend . madness

Hmm, maybe I'll hold fire for now, he didn't seem himself and was subbed earlier than I would have expected

I could just transfer Tsimi out and hold the extra transfer I have banked in case the international break throws up anything

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,083 ✭✭✭Chesty08

if your other defenders are playing I’d hold Tsimikas.

Like he can always become the 5th dud defender as he is cheapest defender but I think we will see him play more games especially with CL & Christmas coming up. Keep him in

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,083 ✭✭✭Chesty08

Vestergaard injured. Amartey might get a longer stint!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,450 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Why would Klopp rush to start Robertson after how well Tsimikas played the weekend? I don't think there's a rush to get rid of him. Likely to rise again this week and then get rid after next week if he doesn't start with a .1 profit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,956 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

Brentford have two CS in a row...

I personally wouldn't be get rid of Ings if i had him. I feel that some people would prefer to have the Big Rom for FOMO, regardless of his price, or returns of other players etc.

White out for Reguillion for the week, will most likely play wild card next week after international break then

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 100 ✭✭HenrysLeftHand

That's true. I'm thinking with my wildcard for game week 4 hat on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,469 ✭✭✭Shedite27

Treating myself to a -4 mini-wildcard to clear out my BB.

    Out: Trossard, Benteke, Torres

    In: Pogba, Calvert-Lewin, Brownhill

    Leaves me with

    Sanchez/Guaita

TAA Shaw Stones (Digne / Tsimikas)

    Salah Pogba Greenwood Barnes (Brownhill)

    DCL Ings Antonio

Happy with the start to the season, hoping this will tie me over another few weeks before a WC in wee 7 or 8.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,511 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

I think there's a decent chance Tsimikas starts against Chelsea, I wouldn't be putting money on it but the fact that Robertson didn't get 20-30mins the last day is a big factor imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,717 ✭✭✭✭Muahahaha

I think it is going to be Wednesday or Thursday before the UK government provides clarity on their updated red list of countries that require quarantine. A lot on Twitter are saying they will make an exemption for the PL but a few weeks ago the Lions rugby team asked for one and didnt get it. They came back from South Africa and had to quarantine for 10 days in a hotel in Jersey before they could go to their homes. If the government allow PL footballers an exemption the blazers in Twickenham will go mad

Here is the potential problems for GW4 after the international break, every country in south America is currently on the red list

    • Liverpool: Firmino, Alisson, Fabinho, Salah.
    • Leicester: Soyuncu, Amartey, Ndidi, Iheanacho.
    • Arsenal: Elneny, Martinelli, Partey, Pepe.
    • Manchester United: Fred, Cavani, Diallo, Bailly.
    • Spurs: Sanchez, Romero, Lo Celso, Aurier.
    • Manchester City: Ederson, Jesus.
    • Chelsea: Silva.
    • Leeds: Raphina
    • West Ham: Antonio (if called up for Jamaica, expected though)

I think its worth waiting to do transfers until this is cleared up on Wednesday or Thursday. If no exemption is given Im looking at Salah, Antonio and Raphina all missing for GW4.

Suddenly holding Salah v Chelsea when he might be out v Leeds in GW4 anyway doesnt look attractive. Chelseas defence is decent so Salah could be a return of 2 points for two GWs and Bruno (c) v Wolves seems the better option anyway. If Salah has to quarantine for 10 days then selling him for 2 GWs before buying him back GW7 v Palace might be a good move, there has to be options who will out score him over those two GWs.

That's a very well balanced team, but I'm looking at it thinking I'd rather get Lukaku in for one of those 3 and go for a few downgrades elsewhere.

You've no Bruno either of course. Might very well be a good strategy to spread the money around.

I think the fact that its Chelsea they're playing means Robertson will be back if at all possible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,352 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

    Williams (4.0) joins Norwich.

Farke says he should be available to play against Bournemouth in the EFL Cup.

Current starting LB Giannoulis was hauled off at HT v Man City so there is a chance to might come in and be a starter. Imagine United have agreed if he will be playing on an ongoing basis too.

Could be a grand cheap, starting enabler.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,956 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

Yea hopefully - i would have thought thought that Tuanzebe would be getting regularly game time when he went on loan - but it's unlikely with the villa defence, so no guarantees that Williams will be walking straight into the team. He's still young and inexperienced, but would be great if he did start - even picking up 1/2 points a game - is all you want for that price. He's not Shane Duffy 😂

I see Liverpool are refusing to release Salah…..other clubs will follow that stance I would imagine.

    Veltman -> Livramento

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,771 ✭✭✭Dr. Bre

Anyone for iheanacho? Perez sent off tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

It would probably make sense to sell Barnes for Benrahma quickly... but Harvey does play Norwich next?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,738 ✭✭✭caviardreams

I'm making that move myself - after the last 2 matches Rogers may change it up with Nacho or Daka and I'm a little worried Barnes may not even start

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,352 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

    2 free transfers

    Toney and Shaw out

    Antonio and Amartey/Duffy/4.0 in

The plan was always to WC after GW3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,416 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Could you afford the extra 0.5 for Dier over the 4.0 for a 2 week spell?

Or is the 4.0 going to be gone in the WC anyways, and a one week job?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,396 ✭✭✭COH

Buendia > Benrahma looks to be a no brainer anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,352 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

    4.4 is all I have I'm afraid.

Already have Tsimikias and Livramento so another 4.0 is risky but should most likely be a 1 week job.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,416 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

I think if it's a one week job, Amartey is your man as he should start.

There's a slight chance that Veltman is back for next game and takes Duffy's place. Albeit very slight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,352 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

    Think you're right thanks.

Need Toney out was going to sacrifice Mahrez to get Grealish & Wilson. Mahrez/Grealish is too iffy to be going sideways.

Antonio is a must have at the moment though. Amartey a decent choice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,416 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

If Amartey could hold off on rising until tomorrow, it would be great.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 408 ✭✭KurtBarlow

The value in the 7.5-8.0 striker bracket is so good that Lukaku or Kane may not be needed, there is so much more choice then what the same value offers in midfield V Salah or Bruno . I have had benrahma and Antonio from day 1 thank god

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 304 ✭✭nice bit of green

Yeah disappointed with his benched start to the season seeing as he finished last strong and scored in the CS.

    Hopefully he’ll stay v Norwich.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,746 ✭✭✭dr.kenneth noisewater

Need to move on Veltman and Toney, will give Barnes another week. Veltman to Dier or Toney to Armstrong and carry my 2nd FT then

Benrahma - I have never seen a player rise so quickly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 63 ✭✭Ninja Avenger

Barnes to Benrahma done, one on the way up the other on the way down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 408 ✭✭KurtBarlow

Is Laporte going to keep his place, I def think he's a better player than Stones

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,416 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

I think Barnes is worth another shot, especially playing against Norwich. I've benched him twice so he's 2 blanks have not hurt me, but he'll start this week. Another blank and he's more than likely gone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,420 ✭✭✭Invincible

Barnes went last week for Benrahma, would move him on, no form from him so far,
