Stage 18 and theres a beast at the end nearly 15 kilometer's long and with an average gradient of 9.8 per cent. Roglic back in red and Bernal probably killed himself yesterday to put up a challenge today.

Movistar to go all out and come away with nothing

Hopefully they do a sweep for horse poop before the riders get there 😅

    Hope they resurfaced the road

They did but just the concrete parts. A pity because the cement segments were part of the magic.

I see s few specks of rain on the camera lens. This could make things interesting. They descend off the top of the Corbetoria and then loop around to do El Cordal before coming back up the Corbetoria the way they descended and turning at the top for the the last 6km to the top of the Gamoniteiro. The Corbetoria descent is lightning fast but pretty wide. The Cordal is a different kettle of fish. Narrow, twisty, loads of shade, leaves on the road. Nibali crashed on it a couple of years ago leading into the Angliru. Contador launched his attack half way down and carried on to win his last ever race. If someone gets clear there it could be great craic.

Michael Storer and Thyman Arensman were doing a great job of protecting Roman Bardet's lead in the KOM classification... until Storer accumulated more points than Bardet 😂

Storer looks like he's take a wrong turn in an U-16 race and ended up in the Vuelta

This race has been insane since the first stage.

This final climb will be insane with the pace that's been on for most of the day.

I wonder if Bardet is planning to go for the stage win. Very surprised he wasn't in the breakaway.

If Roglic wins today, think that means he wins the Mountains Jersey as well. Unless Bardet/Storer comes 2nd/3rd

Bardet striking out now. Love to see him have good go here.

A "goaty" road? Is that a phrase now?

Could have been testing his legs and grabbing KOM points also.

Anybody know the reason why Roglic is wearing what looks like a miner's helmet with the piece on the front?

Think its just a standard team-issue Lazer Genesis with oranged-lensed glasses stuck in the vent

Bahrain nowhere to be seen now after all that.

    26kmh on a 10% gradient. Jesus christ

Wild horses roaming in the background there; expecting goats, brown bears and a few vampires in the final 2km....

Lopez really is a beautifully smooth climber.

gota love the roads they find up the side of a mountain in spain

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,973 ✭✭✭De Bhál

that was class - almost zero visibility at the top. That's one climb I won't be putting on the bucket list.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,369 ✭✭✭Daroxtar

That was a right good stage. The gradient not being quite as severe as the Angliru made for better racing. They'll definitely go back there again. Last 2 days have been very good.

The poor lads in the autobus will have some job getting up there unhindered; surely bump into the others coming down? Insane bit of road

Great ride from Sanchez. Mas really confuses me, he looks so strong thus whole tour and can keep up a high pace on the climbs, he clearly doesn't have the explosiveness of a puncheur but looks like he could go all day. I'd love to see him try set a high pace earlier on a climb and see if he can burn everybody off.

There was a rather large truck parked about 500m from the line, I’d say the engine is burnt out from getting up that far.

So Storer now takes the KOM jersey...

    Quelle domage pour Bardet!
