    1. Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 9.0 Pro. Size S (53). Left seat stay broke; frame to be repaired in the US next month. Have since moved the groupset to new bike (see below photo) and sold the wheels. Once frame is repaired, will use fantastic handbuilt alu wheels from thecycleclinic.co.uk
    2. Giant Envie Advanced 1. Wife's bike. Size S. Full Ultegra group. She has since moved to light action Speedplay pedals.

    3. Curve Belgie Disc. Size M (54; same stack and reach as Canyon). Purchased frame, wheels, seatpost and bars when Canyon broke. Transferred Campagnolo Record groupset from Canyon to Belgie. Will purchase new Campagnolo Chorus components to go on Belgie (shifters, FD and RD), and return Record components to Canyon. The chainset will stay on the Belgie, as it houses the power2max power meter. The Canyon will use the 2014 Campagnolo Record chainset.
Belgie will be main bike, for now, as I'm using it for Haute Route Alps in August; I prefer the performance of disc brakes for the descents I'll be facing.

My 8 year old Boardman. Looking smart with its new wheels if I do say so myself. Lots of miles on this bike but I maintain it well.

Frame finally arrived, you would think my bank is used to seeing bike stuff on the credit card, not this time though, bit of hassle getting it all sorted but order completed last Wednesday and delivered on Friday from Sigmasport. Not always the cheapest but the delivery is better than anywhere else I've used.

Sagan superstar allez 52. Will be built up over the next two months. Bit of shuffling of groupsets around on existing bikes but looking forward to getting out on the road on it. Hard to take a picture that does the colour justice, like a petrol colour that changes in the light.

Rose Xeon CGF. Just recently upgraded the wheels to Fulcrum Racing Quattro Carbons.418819.JPG

Kinesis GF Ti Disc. Bought frame March last year and had it finished for the summer. Mavic Ksyrium Pro Disc Allroad wheels. Ultegra Di2 with BR-R785 Hydraulic Disc. Ritchey bar, stem and seatpost. Selle Italia saddle. Had a full set of mudguards on for the winter. Very smooth on our brilliant west coast roads.

Cycle SuperStore. Frame had a 2 month lead time after ordering it.
When I inquired about one last year, LOOK had a 6 month lead time.
It's stupidly light, the fork is 274g and the frame with seat clamp is 860g.

treated myself to a dolan scala last christmas, with the aim of doing some TTs in the vets, then corona happened. Recently bought a set of
wheels for it for next year, which turned up today, and Tanwalls always look well. Hopefully next year i will be able to do some more TT's than this year!

I've had a couple of CX'ers over the last year or so enter the garage only to depart again shortly after but this one could be a long term tenant!

You going to try some cross on it? I recently got a gravel bike, and with road wheels, im struggling to see why I would need another bike for anything that does not require a specialised bike. It's a real do it all bike. Must actually post a pic.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,860 ✭✭✭fat bloke

Doubt it. I did a season of cross a few years back and, while I liked it, I'm not that motivated to go again. But I did keep the bike for another couple of years, it was identical to the one above but in a cool bright orange. I put a basic Aksium wheelset on it and road tyres and used it as my winter and primary training bike for 2 years and I have such fond memories of it, it was one of the nicest bikes to ride on the road. Pin sharp, solid, stiff yet compliant. I did a couple of 140k plus sportives on it even and never once wished I was riding anything else.

I had been wistfully eyeing up the Canyon Inflites that were listed as in stock there recently, starting at 1950 ish. If you suddenly found yourself in an apartment or a marriage than meant "one bike only" then that's what you'd have. But sure I have one now above for a fraction of that. Took it to school today. Kids said it was cool. That's all I needed to hear. :D
