    No Rolling Stones?

    You're a disgrace, Skid.

On the subject of Thin Lizzy. I spent two days with an old friend last weekend. We hadn't met since Dec 19. Sitting on his fireplace is a 12 inch (approx) replica of the one in Dublin. One of a limited edition by the original sculptor. It was sent to him by Philo's mother before she died.

Arrah, here's a bit of Stones news from Popbitch.com

    P writes:
"I invited some family to see the Stones on their Bigger Bang Tour. Charlie Watts used to eat in Crew Catering and would just chum around with whomever,
so I warned my family not to freak out if he walked in (and also not to eat any of the food, as that's the crew's only chance to eat).

"They were sitting quietly when Charlie Watts walked in. He clocked they were someone's family and asked would they mind if he sat down with them.
He chatted with them and asked if they wanted any food. They explained they understood it was for working crew only etc.
'Oh,' he said, 'but there's plenty. There's always leftovers – and the desserts are exceptional.'

"He got up, filled a few plates and served it to them. He then excused himself and said 'I've got to get to work,' then smiled, '...you know' – pointing to the direction of the stage."

Didn’t know Wesley Snipes had such a great voice.

Sounds a bit like Horace Andy at times - it's very enjoyable, nice variations. I'd say the BBC Symphony Orchestra could make some of the crap I composed over the years sound good though.

Ah the Floyd, with Rachel (phwoar) Fury on backing vocals and Nik Kershaw’s mad percussionist.

I am enjoying this live stream of 'Krisbeberg' from Whelan's on Youtube right now

Never heard of them before, but it's a decent set

Enjoy Morrissey the way you should, Simon - with the radio turned off.

More acts should use a double bass like Mozza did here.

Only another 12 weeks to go...

I finally got to see De La Soul along with Public Enemy (Lite) and Wu-Tang Clan a couple of years ago. Strange, the queue's for the cubicles in the jacks were ten people long each yet there was nobody waiting to pee in the urinals. The punters queuing must have had bad seafood before hand or something.

They should fast forward that song every episode, like the Chart Show would do every time a video you wanted to see came on.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,619 ✭✭✭dasdog

Took me years to fully appreciate them - amazing songs, really.

So once Bryan Adam's reign ends, 2unlimited emerge from their niche on The Hitman and her....

I remember Ray Davies appearing on the Late Late Show circa 1990 and some old lad in the audience asking him what Lola was about?

Michaela Strachan - "It's too hot, they've all got eyes like saucers..."

Prodigy released Charly in August 1991 so change is afoot.
