A great ppv and hopefully a kick up the arse to WWE.

AEW are serious competition now and have been for awhile.

Cole and Bryan are fantastic additions to an already fantastic roster.

Ruby is very meh for me. A good look but that's about it.

Also I have no clue who that old Japanese guy was as I'm sure most casual wrestling fans . After googling him I see that he's 53 years of age. Surely Mox deserves better than this.

RE: Total Bellas, it's my understanding that the Bellas and Bryan didn't want to raise their children in front of the camera so it's coming to an end. I wouldn't expect a confirmation it's been cancelled. I don't believe they ever announced Total Divas was cancelled but it doesn't seem to be happening anymore.

As for Daniel's twitter handle. He obviously didn't want to change it as it would give away that he was going to show up, he has changed it now and as a result temporarily lost his verification.

I don't know how but I swear Andrade's English is getting worse.

There was a kid asking questions at the media scrum that went on for about two hours and Bryan, Cole, Punk & Ruby were all brilliant with him when he asked his questions.

I'm trying to learn Spanish so I'm not going to slate anyone for trying to speak in a second language but he's been in the US for quite a while now and I find it almost impossible to understand him.

Honestly who cares what WWE does at this stage, if Dynamite absolutely whooping NXT overall on a weekly basis didn't serve as a wake up call, then what will?

It was an enjoyable PPV, certainly the best AEW show I've seen.

I think last night was the night AEW grew up. The roster had always been bottom heavy. It now has some weight at the top.

Even JR's salivating commentary was great

Id love to see Christian maybe move over to Impact for awhile whilst champion to keep him away from the main event scene, then have Bryan/Cole enter into a feud involving the Elite and Hagman returning to even up the score leading to him finally beating Omega at Full Gear. Unhinged Omega after loosing the AEW title starts to cause issues in the Elite and Cole taking over etc.

Anyways it was a really good PPV (even though I started to dose off a times during the main event due to tiredness) and each match did its part.

Miro vs Eddie was a great opener,

Mox vs Koshima was hard hitting even though I know nothing about NJPW I recognised Suzuki but the crowd definitely helped make it a huge deal

Britt vs Statlander was a decent womens match and one of Britts better showings, even though it was clear who was going to win both came out strong(however, 1 little thing I didnt like was Statlander "passing out" straight away after the lockjaw was put on)

Womens Casino Battle Royal was done well as I was worried because the last few mens versions were always a mess imo and too many people in the ring but this was done well and the right winner even though Rosa would have been an equally winner too.

Jericho vs MJF wasnt bad although Jerichos entrance was awful as the crowd pretty much gave up half way through, they should have had the guitar on its own for the first part then kick in to the proper version. The MJF countdown was genius to get that extra heat.

Paul Wight vs QT was short and sweet the way it should have been.

Darby vs Punk was great, and a great first match for Punk who will need a few more matches to get back in to ring shape but still not bad for a lad who hasnt had a match in over 7 years. I did think when Sting came out there was going to be a turn by Sting on Darby.

Main Event, at this stage I was running low on energy so I missed bits of the match but the bits i seen were good and now it makes sense why it was the main event. I was kinda shocked at Cole arriving due to it being kept quiet and no one was sure if he had resigned with WWE in the last week or so but glad he is coming in as a heel because that's where he shines. Sadly my internet went a few seconds before Bryan arrived so when I reloaded he was in the ring so kinda took away as I missed the pop.

The tag titles match was probably one of my favourite matches in a long time and imo easily MOTY, both teams had great chemistry and could have easily watched it for another 30mins, wasnt expecting LB to win but delighted at the same time.

With the likes of Bryan/Cole/Ruby all arriving it really opens the doors to so many exciting matches and rivalries to come.

MJF is the antithesis to so many of today's wrestlers that are 100% work-rate without a lick of personality (Looking at you, Cesaro), while he is 100% personality and as beige as it gets in the ring.

He needs a better finisher, the Salt of the Earth looks terrible.

I have to admit for ages I used to think "I don't get what the fuss is about The Bucks". But then I started thinking about all the matches I'd seen them in which I enjoyed and realised I had to give them their due. But I absolutely adore the Lucha Bros. Rey Fenix is incredible.

When CM Punks first match in 7 years in Chicago on PPV ends with not being the biggest story of the night that tells you something great happened for me.

“On leaving WWE & his relationship with Vince McMahon

"The final decision...I started thinking about things. WWE was so gracious with me, as far as the offer they gave me. They were gonna let me do some other stuff outside. I hate to say this... Vince and I have a great relationship. And I love him, I do. Sometimes he's overprotective of me. And I want to be able to push my limits. That's one of the things I love about this, the physicality and being able to push my limits here in a safe manner is one of the things that drew me. And there's an excitement, you see the crowd, you al see it and felt it. And you felt how excited people are about this product. It feels vibrant, even just watching through a TV screen. I want to be a part of this. I really battled back and forth, there are a lot of people there that I consider family...that actually are family...and people that I love there. It was a really tough decision."

Big words from Bryan on leaving WWE. Interesting that they were going to leave him do other dates. Big statement from Bryan leaving to go to AEW. He loves WWE and he still jumped ship. What does that say about the state of WWE.

He's gotten a lot better in the 2 or so years here. Thought he was a lot weaker at the start but he's improved physically (he's ripped now imo) and his in ring work. Outside of Roman, I think he's the best heel around atm.

Watching that media scrum Tony Khan must never get sleep and puts Vince to shame with the amount of work he does and always seems happy As well as being the CEO and booker of AEW he is the DOF at Fulham and has a big role in the recruitment at the Jaguars as well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,076 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Maybe the lack of sleep means we're confusing happiness with delirium.

Finn would likely be open to a move, but wonder if AJ is happy to stay where he is now

I'll just paste what I put on another forum earlier.

Managed to acquire All Out this morning so watching it now. So far, very good, except for Bucks v Lucha Bros. Anything that involves tacks, barbed wire, or broken glass can **** off for me. Also, just hate the Bucks in general. Just high spot after high spot with no reasoning for them other than "Get your **** in."

Add fire to that list too.

    Just finished the Punk match.

About as good as can be expected from him. Fairly slow paced, and lots of rest holds/spots.

The problem being, unless he starts wrestling several times a week again, he won't get in to the shape needed for fast paced matches.

He'll be like when Rock came back for once off matches (which is something he complained about) and will be a CM Punk tribute act.

Glad he didn't go for the elbow drop either. His never looked good, and he doesn't need to be coming off the top rope.

His selling, and working of a crowd is still top notch though.

Bryan made Punk look a bit dweebish in his post show scrum by saying he was there to **** the young stars up not help them.

Not a great comment to make unless they're planning a programme. Otherwise Punk will need to regain his edge quickly.

Unbelievable ppv. AEW reignited what I use to love in wrestling. I stopped watching properly years ago just after wcw invasion.

On and off since then. But I've found myself tuning into aew more and more, to the point I actually was excited for all out. That cage match was the best one I've seen since the hardys v edge and Christian God knows how long ago.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,953 ✭✭✭El Gato De Negocios

Well now, wasnt that a fair good bona fide wrasslin show?

I'll admit I didnt watch either womens matches nor the big slow but watched the rest.

The tag title match was one of the most thrilling, most fun, most rewarding matches Ive seen in well over a decade. Perfect in every way, just superb. The other matches were decent to good, Christian is still well able to go, Mox and the Japanese lad should be interesting, MJF is such a dislikeable prick, a perfect heel. The ending though was great. Havnt watched WWE / NXT in years so no knowledge of Cole but Ive been a fan of BD since I saw him in ROH years ago.

The roster is incredibly stacked and virtually none of them look like typical wrestlers, or at least the wrestlers that Vince et al favour. Darby reminds me of a more charismatic and technically proficient version of Spike Dudley and you know that if he was in WWE he'd be involved in some sort of comedy gimmick whereas in AEW he is a genuine contender and was given the most talked about match of the year to date. That illustrates what TK is all about.

The show brought me back to my childhood and the weekends spent renting WCW and WWF videos and watching them in full three or four times before returning them. It sucked me in completely and Im giddy thinking about where the company goes next, the possibilities are virtually limitless.

Unbelievable to think that just 2 years ago they were being lampooned for being All Ex WWE but now, the highest profile free agent in the world, one of the hottest young talents in the world and one of the best in the world all gave Vince and Co a massive two fingers and signed up, all within the space of a month.

The sky really is the limit for them and the future is very bright indeed.

In that media scrum Tony had a slip of the tongue referring to Ruby as Ruby Riott when talking about signing her, which is understandable but called Cole "Austin". Was wondering if he possibly also signed someone like Aries, until I checked and it's Adam's real name.

I take it Britt won't take his surname then if they ever get married haha. Ah I see it was edited now, originally said Jerkins.

Big wwe fan and always will be but **** me was All Out impressive crowd wise last night from the bits I've seen. The crowd would rival any mania crowd

This company is getting stronger and stronger and a true sign the Monday night Wars (obviously aew aren't Mondays but you know what I mean) is back with a bang

Great time to be a wrestling fan once again

Let's hope AEW start doing UK and Ireland tours very soon. The 3Arena would sell a decent amount of tickets

  • Registered Users Posts: 32 Antics21

A very high quality ppv. The highlight was the tag match. So fluid and innovative - the crowd pop at the pin was insane.

I felt MJF should have gone over if only that AEW doesn't need Jericho in the ring at the moment - the roster is stacked and maybe like Cody a good rest for Jericho would be beneficial.

The momentum the promotion has at the moment is a pleasure to see. The sky really is the limit for them. I haven't watched WWE since 2015 and AEW has brought me back to wrestling in a big way this summer.
